Thanks for your well wishes.....I'm starting temp taking tomorrow(Sunday)!:D |
Day 57 Good morning everybody...and I do mean morning. It's 6:34am here; I am accustomed to waking early(well, my body is anyway), but I woke this morning to short little whines coming from Lexie at the foot of our bed. When I finally coaxed her up where I was so I could comfort her/rub her belly, she continued the short little whines every so often and seemed not to be able to get comfortable, sitting up, lying down, stretching out, etc. I finally got up and let her outside (she did potty), & fed her and Lucky. She has so far snubbed her food, but went over to Lucky's dish and licked his dish clean of any leftovers (which wasn't much). Her being slow to eat her food is not too unusual; she usually eats a few bites at a time. We're in the basement now...she's done her scratching of the carpet in one corner as she has done before, walked around a bit, and is now resting at my feet under the computer desk. I was going to start taking her temp tomorrow, but maybe I'll start today instead. I'm not sure what all the whining was about earlier & I don't think it is signs of an early labor, but before we got up I wondered...if she did deliver this soon (she's due next weekend), would the babies be okay? I'm thinking so, but thought I'd ask the experts. Anybody ever have pups that delivered early? |
They say the puppies are Ok if they are 57 days on. They should be fine if born today. How is she acting now? You might be only a day or so away. I would start taking her temp today . I will be thinking about you. We are going to church in the next hour and will check back as soon as we get back. I will give Lexie an extra prayer. |

Thanks for you reassuring & helpful words Charlene! |
Sounds like you're working up to puppy time.. My girl is due on the 23rd and she is acting strange too. A lot of licking and she had some dried milk this morning. Very restless the last few nights. We should be getting close too. |
Unless I am just freaking out too much, I think Lexie is in the beginning stages of labor. She is lying in a small doggie bed in between our couch and recliner, hasn't eaten yet today, and is shivering/shaking some. I'm going to move my posts now to a new "I think we're in Labor" thread to better get the attention of the experts here. Follow me; I'll take all the help I can get! |

1 Attachment(s) Oh how I love a BIRTHDAY!!! Hope all is going smoothly!! BTW, I looked at your ultrasounds as well.... and I, too - tend to pull towards five lil' ones!! Of course, I'm no veterinarian.... and one or another could be an organ - but here's my (not so pretty) rendition of baby heads and spines! Good luck and God Bless!! ~ Dena & Natalie ~ |

Diva's update! Rose, Your babies are beautiful!!!!! I guess our idea of doing the Buddy Systerm no longer applies  Lexie had something else in mind...maybe she wanted to go first so she could show Diva how it's done!!:D Anyway, Diva's temp last night was 99.0(around 8PM) and this morning it was 99.1(8am). She's also been licking her teets a little. Today is day 58 so I guess any day now we could be having...well....our 1 Little puppy!!! I'll keep you all posted. |
I'll hang with ya hun ;) sorry I can't trot over and sit with you. But I am sure Diva will do great :) |
