praying for him to make it!! he's so adorable, but he's lucky to have you caring about him. thanks to you, he made it through the night!:) |
Checking back in; glad to hear that the he made it thru the night and is eating some. Sure hope his progress continues. Keep us posted when you are able....but the puppy comes first! |
Hoping your little guy is progressing and getting stronger. Prayers coming your way..... |
So Sorry to hear your little one is having such a hard time. I hate to hear of one struggle, but they can pull through. You're doing everything you can. Warmth, Hydration and Sugar for energy. They use up a lot of energy nursing so they won't eat much. I seriously recommend Tube feeding this little one. That way you can deposit a sure 1 1/2 cc of food without her working so hard, hopefully she'll be getting stronger. My vet told me to think of it this way, she'll die if you don't, so It's worth it to try. You can go to the vet and ask them to teach you. Or pm me or an another experienced with tube feeding, there's a few. Will be thinking of him, I've had a 1 ouncer pull through. Praying that he will also. Susan |
Thank you all for your words of encouragement. He still has not gained any weight. He's 1 7/8 oz. I'm putting him on his mom constanly but it seems as though he is not latching on well still. You can pull him right off. Continueing to feed him wth the dropper. but with your suggestions i wiil go to the vet for tube feeding tomorrow. |
Janet, hang in there, I am praying for you and him, its hard with little ones, I wish there was something I could do to help you...:( |
If he should start to become limp and begin to fade you should take him to the emergence vet. If he's squirmy and alert I'd keep doing what you're doing tonight. We'll be praying for him, especially tonight. He'll likely lose some weight, but hopefully not. |
Just checking in and am thrilled to hear he is still thriving..he hasnt gained wieght but he is holding his own now..I hope the vet can help!! Dawn |

How's the little one doing this morning? |
I just saw this thread. How is the little guy doing? I hope he makes it. I will be praying for him, please keep us updated. |
The little guy survived through the night again! I'm up every 2 hours at night to try to get him to latch on then supplementing him after. He weighed 2 oz. this morning...WHOOO HOOOO! Let's hope this is a REALLY good sign. :D So the vet says to bring him in today...I'm really reluctant to do that. I'm going to pm a nice YTer to see if she can help me with the tube feeding, if not I guess I have to take him out to the vet. :( Thank you all sooooo much for keeping him in your prayers. I want to name him but i'm afraid too. He is so tiny, he looks so fragile next to his 7 1/2 oz. sister! |
He gained, that's great news. I pm'd you back with my phone number if I can help in any way. |

His sister is a WHOPPING 7 1/2 oz. She looks like a chunky little pig next to her brother...:shocked7q |
I found your post. He is just a tiny little guy. Looks like the vanilla version of mine. I know what you mean about putting him in your bra. I did the same thing and took him to work on Friday with me. Then to the vet after that. They seem to like the heartbeat and the warmth. Guys were very jelous also. LOL. Not like there is really much to be jelous of. But you do whatever you can for these little guys. I have a question for you. I know that it is a bit off your subject. Does you tiny one shake? Like have tremors sometime? My little 2 week old almost 4 oz one does and I am just trying to get an idea if this is normal. Thanks |

Twitching when they sleep is very normal, a good sign that his neurological system is working well. Tremors... is there a draft in the air? Sounds simple sorry, but even a ceiling fan can do it. We have to suffer to keep these tiny ones warm lol |
He mostly does it when he is awake, eating. He does not do it all the time. Okay well I am going to visit them. I will update my thread later. |

Wouldn't that be wonderful!!! Although he sounded alittle raspy last time he ate, hope he didn't inhale.:( |
How is your little man today? |
Hey Sharon! He is 2 1/4 today. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will be gaining more strength and weight quickly. He still will not latch on, not sure if he's just gotten lazy with the dropper or what. I'm still putting him on mom before I feed hoping to see him latch on. How is your little one, did you find out what the tremors are? |
