I know with Lexie she had a c-section and was pretty much out of it, but I had to put her in a little crate to stay with them at first, I would also put her on my bed and get her to lay on her side and help and make sure they were nursing, the boy we had no problems he was trying to suck everything but the girl worried me, and they both weighed 3.5, make sure he is warm and she is doing good, Lexie wouldn't ever stay near them for long, but after the meds wore off that night you can't get her away, you may have to help him nurse on her till he and she gets the hang of it. |

Wow, I just read this whole post! I think you are doing a great job. Keep it up and I'll be praying for the little guy. I'd like to see a pic, where did you post them? Have a good night:D |
The pictures are here but if anyone has posted more pictures you might have to look a little for them. I think there are 12 or 13 of them. I just couldn't get a good picture of the side of his head. I took pictures of another puppy and they didn't turn out like these did. Sylvia http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/index.php |
It seems the switch is doing well, getting mom use to a pup at least. Bless his heart, crying all the time. I'm like you, hope that's not indicative of anything being wrong. I don't know if I read right or not, has his hurse or eaten yet? That's great that you know how to tube, it's a good way to know their definitely getting so much (cc's) of food. Next time you put him with mom just to let them bond, I've heard of smearing peanut butter (or something mom may like) on the puppy. That will help them to lick them and "acquaint" themselves with one another. I feel for you tonight, I know you'll be worried about him. We'll be thinking of you two, and checking in. |

That sounds like a good plan you have. Do you think he's crying because he's hungry? If you think he hasn't eaten a whole lot, I would (if I were in this situation) tube him the supplement and see if he'll stop crying and be satisfied a while. They cry like the dickens when they're hungry. Just a thought :) |

The three things your puppy needs is Warmth, Hydration and Glucose. Also make sure he is pottying. So thats actually 4 things. My vet told me that is all he can do when one is early is the three things I first listed. Best of luck deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
