Throwing up while in heat... Bella is 9 months old and is now in her first heat I think. About a couple months ago she started humping her toys and stuff but she was not bleeding or anything like that. A couple days ago her nipples have gotten very hard and she is swollen and today is the first day I noticed any blood. My question is, do they sometimes throw up around the time of their heat? Bella started doing this every now and then for the last few days. She seems to be feeling fine, eating normal and playing so I'm not too worried. I was just wondering if this could be from her change in hormones right now or if it is something else. Also, is it normal that a few months ago she started humping things? How long will the bleeding usually last? Thanks everyone! |
A dogs estrus ususally lasts 21 days. The rule is 7 in, 7 there and 7 out. My Roxie always throws up when she first is in heat and the second week of her pregnancy as well. I can hardly blame her as hormones make me feel ill as well. The difference is I don't chew my feet. |
My Little female throwed up her first day of heat and then again on the 7th day. |

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm glad to know it's from that and not something else. I feel so bad for her. What does everyone do about the bleeding? Do you use a doggy diaper or what and where do you get them? Thanks:) |
I have heard of this happening, but never had a female to do it. My female now will throw up some the few weeks prior to her due date, but had never done so during her heat. |
