Something I need to get off my chest
 

I've been a member of this forum for a couple of months now. I've learned a great deal from a lot of people...both good and bad. I've met many friendly and sweet people. I've also noticed that there are cliques on this board. What I mean by cliques is if one member says one thing, several will go along with whatever they've said.

I've only had one litter of yorkies, but that doesn't mean that we've never bred dogs before. Growing up my parents bred and raised Basset Hounds. From there, my husband and I had German Shorthaired Pointers. So, I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to dogs.

I've noticed here lately that the people that used to post on my threads, or just responded to my posts have gone down. Once, I had responded to a thread...I did not realize that the person that made the post only wanted one other member to respond. The title did not give that. So, my comment was completely ignored and the conversation continued between these two persons.

Just yesterday, I pm a more experienced breeder with questions about my Gracie. This person has been online today and has completely ignored my questions. I thought that this person would give me some advice since I've seen her do so on many other threads. It really hurt my feelings since obviously I've upset her in such a way that she didn't have the courtesy to respond...and I don't even know what I've done wrong.

I get the feel that if you are just a hobby breeder, you are treated like an outcast. Since you don't own show quality dogs that you aren't worth giving the time of day to.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Since I've been here, I've got an idea of who I can be friendly with and who I need to stay away from. If I have done something wrong, I would appreciate someone to pm me and tell me. I'm not a hard person to get along with by any means.

I don't know how much longer I am going to stay in this forum. I just get the feel...with the exception of a couple of people...that I'm not welcome anymore. I know that I am not the only person that feels this way.

Sometimes people need and want to put their thoughts together before they respond to an important question, maybe you should give this person a little more time to respond before getting too upset with him or her. I personally can't sit down and do anything that requires any in depth thought process until 10 p.m. when the kids and husband are quiet in bed.

It isn't just this one person. It's a lot of things.

I am sorry that you feel this way. I dont breed just own a yorkie so I cant help ya or I would. Hope that you stick around though, I have enjoyed some of your posts.

Sometimes my posts don't generate a lot of interest either. I think timing has something to do with it. Sometimes they get posted when not too many people are around! Lately, I've been busy with Layla's high energy and haven't been answering too many posts myself. Not that I think anyone missed me! LOL Hope you stick around!

Well, I haven't posted in a while because of it. There are some very wonderful people here but it's just sad that some have to ruin it for everyone else. I've received some pm-s since I posted it and I know for a fact that I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Oh and the questions that I had asked this other person were not difficult questions. It would have taken less than 3 minutes to respond. They were pretty much yes or no questions.

The 'group' thing is here and can be frustrating...but we just have to move past that stuff and keep posting. It's easy to get discouraged when you think you aren't getting responses... but you can't make everyone happy - you just have to make the best of the good responses you DO get...

I do know sometimes people can have computer problems or haven't seen a post so give this breeder time maybe to respond ? I'm sure it's nothing personal....

im just a hobby breeder also who is breeding for health not show and i would love for you to be in my clique... seems the only people that respond to my threads are the ones who want to give me a hard time. so lets have our own clique...(smile)

I just received a pm about the breeder that I was talking about and my apologies go out to you. I jumped the gun on that one. Can't edit it out now. So, my sincerest apologies. :( But the other stuff pretty much stands.

I have had times when I thought I wasn\'t getting posts on my threads either or that I was being ignored, but I have just learned not to take it personally. I also realize that we reach people with what we say even if they don\'t respond so when I have something I want people to know about I always post anyway. There are a lot of lurkers here.

For this reason I try to post on every thread and I have even been criticized by some for doing that because I wound up with 2000 posts in a short amount of time!! Sometimes I don\'t have time to post on every thread and I feel badly but this forum has gotten so big that it is not possible to keep up completely unless you did nothing else! lol

There is really only one clique that I am aware of and it is obvious so I know not to let that one bother me. As for the breeder who didn\'t respond, I would say, give it time. I actually have a PM I got yesterday from a friend asking for advice that I haven\'t had time to respond to.
