DNA and breeder question..... I was looking over Jo's pedigree and I see a few DNA numbers. What exactly do they mean? Also, how do I find out about his breeder? I didn't buy him directly from her so I don't know anything about where he came from. |
Dna AKC requires the stud be DNA'ed for identifying purposes. It does not mean anything health-wise..simply records his DNA in case of any question who sired a litter. You can look on the papers for the name/address of the breeder. Good Luck |
Thank you Pat. The papers only have the name of the breeder, no address. |
? Try contacting the akc...or give me a few names off the pedigree..never know. |
Jo-Jo if you want a more indepth pedigree and your baby was registered before July last year, I know a pedigree searcher who does an excellent job on 5 or 7 pedigrees. They have the info you want as long as the ancestors are AKC reg. and in their stud books..The stud books were closed July 2004 (I think that is the correct date) IMO, the info should be on pedigrees as a routine... |
Thanks Whispersmom2. Jo-Jo was registered about 2 months ago so that wouldn't work for me. I'm mostly just curious about where he came from. |
JoJo you can find out your babies pedigree by going to AKC online then chick on "store" then click on pedigree online, you can choose (I believe) a 3 year $8.00 or 5 year $10.00 and print it off right then. |
