Help my female fizz has had 3 previous litters of pups...i am now having a baby in 4 weeks time so as soon as i found out i was pg we decided no more pups for fizzy..so we had our little man seen to..this was in january..so now fizzy has come into season and he didnt seem interested in her but surprise surprise he is at it again i was nieve thinking he would just not be interested but he has tied her twice!!!!...so my question is 1,will he definantly NOT be able to get her pg as its been like 8 months since the op and ive been told you need to allow 6 months...2,is there anything i can do so he isnt interested in her anymore or is having her spayed the only way..all help would be greatly appriciated oh and 3,should i just let them carry on tieing im trying my best to stop them!!!! |
i dont understand your question. if you dont want puppies, spay and neuter your pets. ;) |
ermm if you read i HAVE had him neutered im asking if theres anything to stop him pestering her...or if having her spayed too the only way!! |
s/n You male is neutered, but continues to breed..that happens..so you need to spay your female. It is not in their best interest to allow them to breed..she can develop infections, and your male will only get worse and worse... |
thankyou very much..the vet said it would be fine to get one or the other done so i chose to get him done as it was simpler surgery...i was told it can take up to 6 months to him completly sterile..its been 8 i hope its been long enough lol..a breeder friend of mine said shes heard of dogs still fathering litters freeked me out a little!!!..thanks again:) |
female I am sure your vet mentioned the increased risks taken with an unspayed female as they age..uterine infection that will require surgery in most cases. false pregnancy and cancer of the uterus and mammory glands...life with a new baby can get busy, you do not need a sick dog.. |
If you don't want to breed her anymore I think you should have her spayed. This way he'll be sure to leave her alone. |
actually no they didnt the vets here just seem to want your huge amounts of money they charge!!...but my breeder friend had told me all about it and i knew a little myself about it so was thinking eventually she should be seen to aswell.:animal36 |
yes i definantly want him to leave her alone looks like its the only way to go..:animal36 |
I would get her spayed. My male and female are spayed and neutered and they never try to mount each other or hump each other |
