Tying issue.........
 
My little girl didn't tie, the male inserted but slipped out twice. We never saw them tie but they could have done it while we were gone or sleeping. She didn't eat very well while she was confined, she wanted to be with me. It has been only about a week and an half since she came out of heat but she is feeling much heavier and she is eating like a pig. I know it is too soon to tell so I am thinking she is probably just putting weight back on that she dropped while she was missing me.

I believe I have heard about females getting pregnant without tying. Am I correct in this?

Sylvia,

When I had the two pitbulls years ago my female got pregnant from a mount and hump :D They didn't tie and she got preggers and had one big big baby. Which one of the girls did you breed?

A tie is not needed, but preferred...next time hold the males butt tight against her and he can not slip out. Good Luck

Hi Beth. I was asking about Jewel. I tried to mate her with Buzz, it was the first time for both of them and they just couldn't get it right. LOL

I saw in 3 or 4 posts below that someone else asked the same question and it got answered in a resounding YES! LOL So maybe in a month I will be able to tell if she's just eating or if she's eating for 3 or 4. LOL Sylvia

LOL This guy is real shy about being touched while he tries to do his job. If I came near them he would back off. If I had them loose in my room and went toward them he would hide under the bed. All I could do is to put them in a cage together and watch as closely as I could. Sylvia

Poor Jewel...the girl can get no satisfaction...lol. So Buzz has some performance anxiety :eek: Practice makes perfect. Poor Buzz. Wonder if it took. Can't wait to find out.

Come now...audiences...lol. I can't blame Buzz. I read somewhere where there was a mention of manual stimulation for a male that was having issues with a female that was brought to them. All I have to say is good luck and god bless to all you breeders. If it were me and nature wasn't taking it's course naturally I doubt that I could lend any assistance.

How to raise a stud
 
I have raised a lot of studs..Yorkies studs that is..from the beginning, say 8 weeks and on you have to touch their privates. IF you show them, the judge will touch and feel for parts...Get them used to it.. never scold for mounting anything animal, vegetable or mineral..or acting male.

Bath time is a good time for an examine.. I would tell them I have to check everything out to be sure they are okay... make sure no hair gets caught the shaft..that can cause many problems...clip the hair short frequently in that area and get them used to having their butt patted..
I know I sound like a prevert and will no doubt see my face on some sex offender web site..but getting them bred is serious stuff..all my boys were wonderful..they would do anything I asked, except for not marking..it was a trade off..LOL

LOL...doggie sex offenders. Wow you breeders do go through a whole lot to make it possible for us to have our babies. I thank you all sincerely from the bottom of my heart.

LOL I don't mind groping his little privates, what I'm afraid of is someone catching me. LOL Can you imagine the ribbing from family and friends if I get caught molesting a dog? LOL

Ahhh, I wish I could see and touch her. Lily has almost gotten that 2 1/2# mark. She's only a tenth or whatever it is less than an ounce off. She's almost 7 1/2 months old. She could make 3# by the time she's 18 months old but she will probably stay less than 2.12. Sylvia

Lulu probably put on a couple ounces since she was spayed. I know she is still light as a feather and most likely still under the 3 lbs. I will try and take some more pictures of her...as you know she is a damn bundle of energy and goes wild when she sees the camera.

Hey Maybe I can take a trip out for a weekend next year if I can spare the money so you can see her. It would be nice to get a weekend off to myself without having to attend to everyone else.

Tiki...lol. I am not sure if I could. Plus jesus since he mated with Mimi he is a freaking humping machine. Ever few seconds I have to pull him off of Lulu.

Maybe I will send him to you to show buzz the ropes. This boy has turned into a sex machine. I have to go by and see how mimi is doing. I am sure that he is probably marking all over her house now. Maybe I need to make him some belly bands for her.

Tiki torch is a good association unless you follow sports. He was named for the football player Tiki Barber by mike and carmen.

Nope, haven't followed sports for about 33 years. LOL Belly bands are not a bad idea at all. How far along is Mimi now?

Not sure since Carmen didn't really keep a good record. I think she said she tied mid july. Dunno why she let them breed. Everyone always wants pups but you really need to have the right skills, time and emergency money to breed. God only knows what can come up with treating, worming, and after care of a litter of babies. Hopefully Mimi won't need a c-section or have any problems at all free whelping if the breeding took. I also didn't recommend it to her since Mimi was a pet store pup and god only knows she had to be from a BYB or a Mill. I hope nothing comes up health wise for her later on.

So she should be showing if she's pregnant. When you go over pick her up and feel if her belly is protruding or still concave. Mid August you should be able to feel "walnuts" in her belly if she's pregnant. Sylvia

I will try and stop by her house tomorrow and see what is what. I am sure that by now her appetite has to have improved as well. Maybe if she has a nice size litter I can get one from Carmen...lol. Then again I am not sure if I am equipped to take care of two of them. I don't think I would want a boy again though. Would most likely get another girl.

LOL Getting a young one when she is close enough to visit her before you get her would make a good playmate for Lulu. She would have the new girl buffaloed before she even got to come home. LOL Size wouldn't matter. LOL Sylvia

Lulu will definitely be the alpha here with another dog. Mimi and Tiki are both rather small. I think Tiki is about 3lbs and some ounces and Mimi was last 3lbs and about 9ozs. So hopefully for her sake there will only be very small babies in there.

If he takes after Mr. Big they will be, if he takes after Nicky, Mimi will probably have to have a c-section. Carmen should be taking her to the vet to keep an eye on the situation. It's better to be prepared for any situation. I'm thinking, cause all 4 of them are smallish that they are Nicky's. Oh, drat! I can find out by looking up their birth weights. LOL Sylvia

According to their birth weights they are Mr Bigs. Tiki was 2.9 ozs, Bailey was 2.8 ozs, Jewelina was 3.9 ozs, and Lulu was 2.7 ozs. The only one that was big enough to be Nicky's was Jewelina and they are all mixed sizes as near adults so I don't think any of them were Nicky's.

LOL If Joy did a paternity test on Jewelina and Big she would probably have picked the right one. LOL Sylvia

I have to go now. I noticed Autumn isn't acting right so I want to keep an eye on her for a while. I was eating carrots and they all crowded around me except her. When I picked her up her nose was warm and dry. She wouldn't take a drink of water but I put some on her nose with my finger and she licked my finger. Then she took a drink and I gave her some chicken, we had grilled chicken for dinner. She ate that ok but I'm still worried. It might just be morning sickness. I'm hoping that is all it is. Talk atcha later. After I read this next post, I'm getting off the puter until much later or tomorrow. Sylvia
