genetic health issues I have a female that has one eye a little smaller than the other. Is this a big deal? I know every being has its genetic problems. Should I be breeding her? |
i see that no one has answered your question. i have no idea. i have been reading and learning genitics in dogs but never came across this. i hope someone can help you further. |
I bought a dog once that had 1 smaller eye. She ended up having a condition called " dry eye" She would get goop in her eye and it looked dull and not as shiney. She was 1 yr when she delevoped the problem. |
eyes I would not breed her myself..but there are faults some can live with and some can not...I went to use a champion one time for stud and he had one eye much smaller...it was so noticable to me. I felt like a jackxxx changing my mind in the breeders kennel...from that time on, I always looked the stud over head to foot at a show before contacting the breeder. |
It may be just the eyelid is shut a little more. I doubt it's the eyeball that's smaller. |
I'd ask your vet if he thinks it's hereditary, and if it is I wouldn't breed. |
