Need opinions on getting dews and tails done - what do you think? My two babies were born Monday, one around 7:30 - 8am and then next came via c-section around 12pm. My appointment is tomorrow (Thursday) @ 11:20am. The boy who came naturally weighed 4 oz but had a slow start and just started to eat on his own today without my help. He has not lost any weight. Will tomorrow be ok? |
breny, I think it is fine. they are good weights and you said the boy is eating on his own now. that would make them four days, right? just watch to see if the boy is eating on his own when it's over. sometimes after dewclaw removal, the little paws are a little sore but they usually eat right on, just don't push as hard. |
Thanks :) yes, he just started eating on his own today. Yesterday I bottle fed him 3 times. I started today giving him one drop of nuti-drops 3 times a day too. Yes they were born Monday so if you count Monday as day one - Thursday is day 4. I just worry. I read a thread on here about one getting it done and it died after :( How devistating that would be. |
I agree he should be fine, but if your concerned about him not doing so well why not just extend it one more day so he will be just abit stronger and you wont worry so much. |
I just weighed him again before he ate on mom, and he was 5 1/4 oz. He was 4 oz Monday. |
I know how you feel... I didnt get Precious docked.. I was to scared... My vet didnt want me to do it either because of her being so tiny... I am keeping her anyway soooooo it was not a big deal for me to have her docked. |
I kept my appointment for today and they are doing fantastic! The little boy is actually eating more now and eating with more strength. I couldn't be more happier with this litter!!!!   |
That's great! It sounds like everything went well. Good for you guys. You know we love to read about the good stories! |
Glad it went well for them!!! |
