price to raise a litter there seems to be some misgivings about breeding puppies making money if done correctly there is not a dime left over about two years ago there was a great post that broke down if we were hourely waged we would not make minimum wage lets not even add if you stud out or 1,200 for cesarian or any other things going wrong but this is the price for a heathy litter. this is why the market is full of pet breeding pets all the call's i have recived for my puppy say o i want a pet and why cant i have breeding rights. i cant find the old post but if the poster see's this would you repost it please |

Yes, Misty did do a very nice cost assessment. She told me a few months back that she did make a profit her last litter.....She bought a bag of dog food with that profit and had to make up the difference since it cost more than her profit. So, she ended up in the hole again. |
If you go into your settings you can change it to ALL the way back;) I will try to look too. |
I think I may have found it :D is this it http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...=cost+breeding |

I don't even break even or make a profit to buy dog food LOL. But since I only have one litter a year if that I'll never break even. My Cammie just had 2 girls 4 weeks ago and I won't come close to breaking even. But she had two beautiful little girls and I hope I can keep and show them both!!!
