Experienced Advice Needed My 5 pound male Yorkie had his second episode of anaphylactic shock today. Last time the vet thought it was the vaccine. The only common occurrence was that he went to the groomer both times. Has anyone ever heard of Quickstop causing an allergic reaction? Increased heartrate and respiratory rate leading to inability to stand. Excess salivation and rapid panting. Any clue? |
problem I think a dog like a human can be allergic to anything...but I have never heard of it. I would learn to groom at home, his life could depend on it. Was any flea products used...was he put in a dryer or blown dry by hand..when was his last meal before grooming, find out the tyeo cahmpoo and conditioner that was used...do you bath him at home between grooming with a different product? Is he anxious/stressed when he is there..on the way, when you pick him up..? PS..if a nail is nicked in teh future, tell the groomer not to use Quickstop...a clot will form on any nail in 10 mins with pressure from a cotton ball.. |
