AKC Papers I am so confused... My breeder gave me what I thought was his papers but it is just the AKC form to mail in to get his papers should the entire litter have been registered with AKC when they were first born? IM so confused HELP ME!!! Please thanks! |
What you have in your possession is the dog transfer application. The litter was registered by the breeder but now you have to register your pup in your name. It should be a preprinted form that you have to fill out and sign. There was a place for the breeder to indicate the color of the litter (usually based on the coloring of the parents) and to sign. Hope this helps. Lisa |
Yes, don't worry. It's the correct forms, now you probably have to pay to get them registered in their own names... |
Be sure to check and make sure the papers you have are for the puppy's AKC registration and NOT just to register a microchip with the AKC Companion animal recovery program. I am surprised how many people are given those papers, especially from pet shops. The puppies are actually reg. with one of the registries that commercial breeders and millers use.. |
