Advice needed...'Gay' Tail??? Hi all, Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with a gay tail. I'm told that your pup has a gay tail if it curves (however so slightly) toward the front. I've got a little guy here that shows great promise, it's just when he stops and sets, that darn tail curves slightly to the front. He's only a little over four months. If this gets any worse, is there something I can do to possibly train it? Will his adult coat weigh this down a little when he gets older? He's got a very nice gait and he brings his tail down to a little above level when walking. Aloha, Irby |
1 Attachment(s) Truth is a gay tail is really not a problem in the ring unless it is very severe. If you look at most of the pics of show dogs you will find that they are gay to some degree. It is a flashy look. Connor's tail is slightly gay as are all the dogs that I've ever seen in his line. I wouldn't worry about it with your little one, it should be fine. Post a pic if you have one. |
tails Read Hugo Ibanez article at Yorkyclub.com What used to be gay is not quite acceptable... |
I couldn't find a Yorkyclub.com. Are you sure that's the right address? |

My Tahlulah has a gay tail and has had no problem in the ring obtaining points. I guess as in all other things, it's in the judges hands as to what they'll accept. |
