Teacup, Micro Mini, Very Small Yorkies Be very weary about buying a teacup, micro mini, ect... Yorkie I am sure you all know how much more expensive they are. I paid top dollar for one of my yorkies from a website in Oklahoma that was supposes to only get to 2.5 pounds well, he came to me less than that but he was starved, you could see all of his back bones. Now he is a 7 pound boy. I still love him very much but this is a big scam that alot of pet stores and internet breeders pull. It is very important you see the pup in person and the pups parents before you buy. this is the only way of knowing the true size. Just because the website or store looks nice, does NOT mean they are honest. |

Yes you do need to post the name of the web-site (breeder) Always be aware of ANY ad that states they are tea-cup, micro-mini. THERE IS NO SUCH YORKIE. if you ask AKC they are the runt of the litter. I was always told that the smaller the yorkie you buy the more health problems that they have. if the puppy requires an I.V. for any reason it is very hard for the vet to find the vein. My puppies are 4lbs and 5.5lbs and I love them with all my heart. ALL yorkies are perfect.:) Were they AKC ? If so you should check the suspension list. AKC states anyone trying to sell a puppy and labeling them tea-cup, micro mini is in violation of the AKC registration. I wanted a tea-cup yorkie too, But when I contacted AKC they told me there is no such thing. that is precious that your yorkie has you, I am sure he is so greatful to get out of that home and into yours. PLEASE post the name of the web-site and breeder so that all can be aware of this puppy mill. people like that dont need to have animals. Good job with your yorkie. |

The YTCA has good information on the use of the word TEACUP and the problems associated with intentionally breeding for tiny - http://www.ytca.org/faq.html#A |
I did post a thread about this website in the breeder review about a year ago when I first got him. I told my story in detail because he also came to me with coccida and a couple months after having him he was diagnosed with Leg Perthes Disease. After he had his surgery and got better, he was then diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease ( he never had a firm hard stool). So I have had a terrible experience with an internet breeder. The only reason I wanted to bring it back up was because I have been hearing alot lately that many pet stores and internet breeders are doing this to get more money for the pups. Yes, he is AKC, even sold to me with full reg. although I would never breed such a sickly dog. And yes I have written to the AKC. They didn't seem to care much. I have also called the humane society, they told me that they did not have animal control in the rural area the breeder was located at. But they said they would try to send someone down there. www.yorkiebabiedolls.com is the website, I bought from Don Montgomery, but there are I think 3 other breeders that advertise on this website. I have had my words with Don, and he will only give me my money back if I give Fabio back, but I refuse to give him back to an uncaring breeder. I love Fabio and he nor any other dog deserves to be starved. Fabio has alot of psychological problems too, when it comes to food. He gralws at my other yorkies if they are around him while he is eating. But for the most part he is happy and spoiled rotten! |
Oh WOW, I just went on the website, I havent been on from along time. Now they have in big letters that Don Montgomery is no longer selling pups on that site. Hummm, I wonder why. He probably got a lot of complaints. As for the other breeders on that site, I dont have experience with, I just hope they dont do the same thing. |
wow, I just checked out the website and they have it posted very big now that "Don Montgomery is no longer advertising on this web page! " He must have been pretty shisty and had a lot of complaints on him. |
