YTCA's Standards How Do U Know What... Okay I have questions here about Breeding to the Standards Of AKC/YTCA...Okay say I have puppies (Which I will here next week, if everything goes good) @ what age do I start looking for the assets and faults of my puppies? What would be the assets and faults I'd look for in EACH of them? I have the YTCA Codes already, but I thought some of U breeders could tell me more?? How do I know one of my puppies would be good for a future mating to get to the Standards? How would I know to keep a puppy from my litter to find another good quality Yorkie to breed with it to get to the Standard? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for U're help. Hugs, Lee and Babies |
One of my mentors told me to take a good look at them at 8 weeks old and don't look back until they're 6 monthes old. Look for a good earset, good bite, straight topline, square body, high tailset, balance of face, good movement, and outgoing personality. |
6 months has always been the standard time by what i have been told |
