Hair Growth Question. Hi there. I have a question for the experienced breeders out there. I brough Jersey home at ten weeks of age. When I got her she didn't have much hair. She's now a bit over 13 weeks and it's starting to come in. I notice most of the pups her age are real hairy. Just wondering if this is normal for some pups and if the hair does actually come in nice later on. Thanks in advance for your input. Elaine |
Sometimes the best silk coats start off thin and straggley. Remi had a lousy puppy coat. At 10 monthes I cut the thin puppy junk off of the ends and she now has a wonderful, heavy silk coat that is exactly what I want to breed. Give your baby time she may turn out to be quite a gem. |
Thank you Tammi. I'm hoping her coat comes in nice but either way we LOVE her. Her brothers were very fuzzy. She was ahhh as they say the ugly duckling. LOL. Thanks again. Elaine |
And she may be the swan, only time will tell. This breed is one of the hardest to predict as they change so much while growing up. You'll know by the time she's 6 monthes old. Roxie has a different coat. She's still beautiful just easier to groom. |
