Gold Dust Yorkies I know I have seen a thread for Gold Dust Yorkies, but the search will not find it!!!!:thumbdown Does anyone have a puppy from Gold Dust Yorkies?? I looked at her website, and she looks like an excellent breeder, but I was curious if anybody had ever purchased a puppy from Kathy at Gold Dust Yorkies. http://www.golddustyorkies.com/ |
with the word 'Yorkies' - it probably couldn't search - just type in 'GOLD DUST' - I found a few threads with that search here's one thread - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ight=gold+dust |
I haven't purchased from her, but if I were to get another yorkie, she would definitely be one of the breeders I would contact. She has beautiful lines, and her pups are gorgeous. Wylie's mom has a pup from her...Her pups name is Marcel. He's soooo adorable :) He's the little guy that was on her website under available :) |
Hey V Not fair!! That's exactly what I typed in the search! I tried 'Gold Dust' and 'Golddust'. It only works for you I guess - nahh LOLOL |
Kathy is wonderful. My Marcel (in my avatar) is from her and there are other members that have pups from her as well. She is really great, answered my gazillion questions with all the patience in the world, her pups are so sweet and socialized with love. She really loves her dogs. She's also the type of breeder who says "whenever you're in town (she's 3 hours from me), stop by and see the whole clan" - so that says something as well. I hear she's very well respected in the show world, her line has some great pedigrees. She's not a quantity breeder at all, which we all like! If you have more questions, feel free to ask me. I'm still in touch w/ her about Marcel too, I keep her updated and send pics - so it's nice that she stays in touch. Keep us posted! |

I emailed Kathy Saturday night with a few simple questions, such as: Are your dogs routinely screened for heritable diseases? What do you expect of potential puppy owners? What type of guarantee do you provide? Just to get a feel for her, but I haven't heard back from her yet. I visited her website and noticed her pups are from the Durrer line. From her site, she looks like she'll stand in the good eyes in the show breeders. Do you know if she shippes pups? I live in Colorado, but have extended family in Pheonix, so maybe I could pick up a pup sometime when we're visiting. If you know off the top of your head, who are the other YT members who have purchased pups from her? |

And yes, I believe many of her pups are purchased by people who show - I think she has a very solid reputation in that arena. She will not "ship" pups, but her price includes hand delivery to your nearest airport - so, she'd fly the pup to you or you could fly in and get the pup. The other YT members I know of are AZkaty (Ralphie in her avatar has a face beyond words, so adorable) and, I think, "Bella" - I guess she has flown in for 3 different pups from Kathy (lucky bella!). I think there may be others...but that's all I recall. Are you getting a male or female? |

Who are Wylie's parents? |
I'd have to look for Wy's parents on his certificate - but believe me, he was from a rather bad breeder! Marcel's parents are Durrer's Rosie and Rigby's Prince Charming. His pedigree has Durrer, Rothby, Rievaulx, BISS (don't recognize), and a few others I don't recognize. |

Kathy is a wonderful breeder and lady. There are 2 members here who have her dogs. One is Maria, and she is showing hers and the other is AZkaty ;) |

I have 2 yorkies from Golddust!! The 2 boys I got from Golddust are great!!! Wonderful personalities and absolutely beautiful. Both are show dogs. Alex is already a champion and Oscar is just starting out. They are healthy and passed their vet check with flying colors. Hope this answers your question and helps you in a future purchase. Lynn |

OMG, Marcel is soooo cute !! You must kiss is little face all the time:) |
Thank you!! I really love Cathys dogs and I know she will pick a nice puppy for you to show. I show them until the hair is to the floor then send them with Kirsten McGreger, a pro handler. She is WONDERFUL!!!!!!! Do you subscribe to The Yorkshire Terrier Magazine? Kirsten is always showing. The magazine is very helpful also. Lots of pictures, articles, stats, and helpful hints. Also go to www.sweetyblue.com to see more of the Durrer lines( and others) Good luck on the future purchase of a show dog!!!!!!!!!!! I have spent the last 10 years trying to buy a show quality dog. None of them panned out until I got Alex from Cathy. Lynn |
Gold Dust Yorkies - Karen I just wanted to mention, that i called Karen because we don't know where Coco Chanel came from. I've always maintained close relationships with the breeders of our Italian Greyhounds and they've always been available to answer questions. Long Story Short - SHE'S AMAZING! I asked her lots and lots of questions and she was so kind, informative and patient. She even invited me to call her back if I had more questions!! If I ever consider another Yorkie -- Gold Dust Yorkies would be at the top of the list. -- Her Yorkie's are Gorgeous! -- Diane |

The link at the beginning of the thread and the link that I put are to the same place. |
Whew I thought there was another Gold Dust Yorkie's stealing the name...Obviously by the reviews of respected members combined with looking at the site that is linked...I wouldn't hesitate to get a pup here... I'm referring to the site linked in this thread only. |
I sent a pic of my Gold girl cookie but it has to be approved. The biggest difference I have seen from the traditional is the unbelievable agility. |
