I do think it is a LONG time for the temp to be down????Maybe that is normal for her???
I would of had mine checked this am though I would not be comfortable with that temp down that long .but I would of checked mine also for dialation,or to see if I could feel something.
Then would of been off to the vets if no dialation,for that would not be normal for my girls.My vet will wait the full 24 hours (temp drop) But would not risk the life of my mom or babies past 24 hours.24 hours is long enough for the temp to be down and no pups,unless you have been recording her temp and that is her normal and she needs to go down to 98?
SOmetimes they need a boost to get going also,oxy (given by your vet )calcium is needed also for no contractions in certain situations (given by your vet).
I really hope all babies are okay for her sake and yours and all goes well with her whelping.Seems she has had a hard life and needds to have a litter in a free open room will be good for her.

how do i check for dialation? i mean i know how, but how do i know if it is opening? im taking her to the vet in the am if nothing happens tonight unless she starts showing signs of being in trouble then we are going tonight.

I have only had one litter and that was many years ago. Pup delivered and have to admit I was very naive about the entire process compared to temperature readings, etc.

Have been following your thread and hope Momma will deliver safely within the next few hours.

Well, for us... Rosie was doing the same thing that your girl is doing, and she was not dialating. I couldn't tell visually and didn't know until the vet actually physically checked her. If it were me, I would not wait until the morning to call the vet. But that's just me, and my husband calls me overprotective. :) But this is going on a very long time for the puppies not coming, and if you say their movement is decreasing - personally, I wouldn't wait. Rosie never actually exhibited signs of trouble - just the same thing - temperature rose and then dropped, and then no puppies all night. (And this was with Rosie's 2nd litter - not the first, so the vet was surprised that she had any problems.)

I will check back frequently and wish you the best! :)

First thing I thought of as I woke up, wonder if the pups were born? Does anyone know her personally ie telephone call?

no changes. except temp was 98.9 this am. Im thinking she has to drop to 98 and stay instead of 99. she is still picking at her food and sleeping alot.

Low 98 range, stay a while, then it'll start to go back up again. Gracie's stayed in the 97 range for several hours. We had pups within 24 hours after that.

just took her temp again, its now 98.4!!!

Looks like you will be having babies very soon. When my females temp drops into the low 98's or even 97's, within 24 hours we have babies.
