Sellers remorse? Does it Exist? I have heard of buyer's remorse. what about Breeder's remorse? So folks DON'T jump to any wrong conclusions, the buyers are a wonderful couple; they live around the block so I have the wonderful opportunity of watching this puppy grow up; references checked out; they've agreed to possible breeding in the future; etc. but I think I really fell in love with their puppy. They had a choice of two and I'm disappointed they didn't choose the other one--and there is no substantial difference, size, playfulness, attitude between the two.... Has this happened to you? how did you handle it? |
Why did you want them to choose the other one? |
i have had seller's remorse ever since i sold my first puppy from my silk. I named her Fancypants there are all kinds of pictures of her on here. Her new owners named her Buttercup. That was the prettiest puppy I have ever seen and I kick my arse every day for selling her. She has started in the show ring. 9I think) i knew she would. |

I cried like a baby recently right in front of the new owners. But the one I really wanted to keep, I literally have to hide in the bathroom. Anytime anyone saw her....."How much is she?" She's not for sale! Now no prospective owners see her. I kept her for breeding, but I'm not sure she's going to make weight (I had told my husband if she didn't we would find her a home so we wouldn't accumulate too many, but that's easier said than done besides she doesn't take up much room) If you wanted them to pick the other one you could have told them that you have one for them to look at. Especially since there were no differences in quality. |
Wow Delores, I bet you do regret that. Keep an eye out for those and go with your gut feeling. You must be so proud of her! |

I think the breeder i bought parker from did.. Right after she dropped him off at the airport she called to tell me everything went okay and she just started crying on the phone!!! She apologized later!! I didn't mind b/c i would do the same thing!! I think it really shows how much people really care about their dogs |
I cry every time I sell a pup... But there's always one or two that you just never seem to be able to break the tie :( . You just comfort yourself with knowing they went to good homes. |
Thanks. I actually "hid" one from the "C" litter, because I'm holding him back to show him and possibly breed him. I just didn't realize I had the same feelings on the "D" litter too for one of the babies. LOL, I will have 50 dogs too before time passes. |
