hi First i would like to say hi to all members. Im new to the forum, I have 2 yorkshire terriers, scooby is 5 years old, millie is 2 years old. Now onto the good news, mille is due to have her pups in 3 weeks. They will be are first set of pups so we are really excited. Having read lots on the internet about breeding ect. I have just come across this forum ,and would like to ask breeders and owners if there is any information or help they could give me to make sure it all goes smooth on the day. many thanks john and kath:) |
I would start reading everything you can and maybe contact local Vets in your area to see if there are any breeders who would be willing to help you. Maybe one will let you set in on a Whelping. Here is a good site that has quite a bit of info too .. Like things to have on hand for the whelping and signs to watch for if the female is in trouble... Good luck to you may you have a smooth whelping. http://www.debbiejensen.com/table.html |
Make sure that you have all of your whelping articles ready to go as well as your important phone numbers. Take her temp twice a day for the last week, recording your findings. When her temp drops she should whelp within 24 hours. Record the experience along with the weights of the pups so that you can refer back to it in the future or in case you must consult a vet. Good luck |
good luck to you. let us know when you are on "PUPPY WATCH" |
Can't offer any advice, but welcome to YT and good luck!!! |
