Need advice on breeders in San Diego, CA... I am in desperate need of referrals to good professional breeders. I've been researching since December wanting a tiny yorkie and so far have had nothing but bad experiences. I went on breeders.net and have been in contact with two breeders. One was very unprofessional as she was not stable emotionally when we met for the appt to see the puppies. The second breeder sold me a puppy that at the time was fine but ended up being sick (lethargic practically lifeless, that was vomitting, and blood in his stool). The second breeder did refund me my money after I had my vet speak to her but she then became unprofessional playing on my feelings saying I was a bad owner and that the dog was just stressed. Very different to my vet's opinion. So now I am in search for a local breeder in S. California that is reputable selling healthy puppies minus all the scam and heartache. I'm even considering an older yorkie 1 year old. Anyone have an opinion on purchasing an older dog? Thank you for your time. Greatly appreciate your opinion. :aimeeyork |
i hope someone can help you out. i don't know of any breeders in ca. odd for such a large state. again, good luck |
I haven't actually bought from her (but I'm strongly considering it) - but Tanya from tanyastinytots.com is very nice and helpful. Not a scammer or anything. She may have a pup available, but I'm not sure. Another breeder is Linda from http://bejazeyorkies.com, she's nice and professional, though I feel that her prices are a bit high for just a pet. :\ Same with Sandy from http://www.wee-r-yorkies.com. There is also Kelly from www.worldkennelsusa.com which another user here recommended to me. I talked to her on the phone and she was very nice. (by "very nice" I mean not rude, and they answered all my questions) There are a few others who I have talked but haven't felt comfortable/impressed with. A few of them didn't even bother to answer my questions or return my e-mails/calls. :thumbdown You can also check the ytca.com site, they have good breeders listed there. Good luck on your search! |
thanks so much Thank you for your referrals. I actually have contacted Sandy from Wee-r-Yorkies. Its good to hear positive feedback about breeders so you know to give them your business vs. scam breeders that keep adding to their victim list of clientele. So sad. By any chance could you pm me the breeders that were not of any help to you. I'd like to stay away from them. Thank you. |
I'm searching for my yorkie too and I talked to all the breeders in So Cal on the ytca and ytcla sites, and most of them won't be breeding for awhile. I found a breeder in Devore, CA and I'm going to go visit her puppies in 2 weeks. I'll let you know how it goes. See my thread here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80617 |

I also called the worldkennelusa lady and she was kind of distracted with her kids, but she has a lot of pups available and not outrageously expensive. Some are selling their pups for $3500! Good luck with your search! |
please let us know when you found your new baby. we love to see pictures |
puppy growth. Has anyone heard of puppies not growing much after 5months? Is this true? I'm looking into a puppy that already weighs 4 1/2 lbs at 5 months and the breeder says she won't grow much larger than that. I'm not really sure when puppies stop growing or how much larger the puppy will get. Let me know what you think. Thank you. |
They still grow after 5 months |

i hope you find your perfect baby. I delivered one of mine to LA recently. long trip for me and I didn't get to see any of your beautiful city except as I flew over it. The water was beautiful from the air also. I delivered my baby to Trini&Coco's mom on here. That is her username and she is a breeder. A very nice person |
