I hear about scams like this everyday working in a bank. Can your bank trace the wire to see where it went to and who the account holder was. |
We used Western Union. I filed a report through Western Union and asked them where my money was cashed. WU told me that they money was cashed in San Diego but they can't tell me the exact location. They needed to be subpoena to release infos.. I hope that the San Diego authorities will look into this and update me about the case.. If this woman has tried to contact u or have scammed u, please file a report with IFCC and the San Diego police so that they'll pay more attention to it... |
By the way, be cautious of a seller who's email is @cox.net, Elizabeth Davis goes by different names and has many email addresses, but she always uses cox. She also gives addresses around in San Diego, like Chula Vista. Her puppy's name is Billie Jean, she's used this a couple of times. She sent me pictures that looked like they were professionally taken, it's too bad I don't know how to post it here. Thank u for putting my posting up on top all the time... |
Just a suggestion too to anyone reading this that it is best to use a "puppy escrow" when you have to pay for the puppy in advance. This will prevent most scams. |

here is a copy of the email she sent me. what a jerk. From: Elizabeth Davis Date: 05/10/05 14:28:16 To: jennaj52@msn.com Subject: Re: Reply to Next Day Pets Listing: A.K.C. YORKIE FEMALE Sally and daisy are still available. They were born Feb. 1st and are A.K.C. AND COME WITH A 1 YEAR HEALTH GUARANTEE. I'll offer the same discount i did for my other buyer. She is $700.00 plus 150.00 shipping (no shipping if you pick up.) money orders, cash and western union. If you cannot pick-up, you may opt for Western union and i will do free shipping to offset costs of sending western union. I use delta air to ship and puppy can be shipped as soon as next after payemnt is received. Puppies are shipped to buyers nearest airport, where buyer must present identification to pick up puppy. She will arrive with her A.K.C. papers, and vet records along with a free puppy kit (includes ultra puppy dry) which she is currently eating now. 1 year health guarantee also offered. Sincerely, Elizabeth Davis i hope this helps, oh by the way the email she used was buyalot818@cox.net so she does use cox to send her emails. |
Maybe you could email her ISP and get them to at least shut down her internet connection/email. "On their site it says....This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") has been designed to protect our Service, our subscribers, and the Internet community, from inappropriate, illegal or otherwise objectionable activities. Please read this policy prior to accessing the Service. All users of the Service must abide by this AUP. Your violation of this AUP may result in the immediate suspension or termination of either your access to the Service and/or your Cox account. This AUP should be read in conjunction with our Internet Subscriber Agreement, Privacy Policy, and other applicable policies. Prohibited Activities. You may not use the Service in a manner that violates any applicable local, state, federal or international law, order or regulation. Additionally, You may not use the Service to: Conduct, participate in, or otherwise facilitate pyramid or other illegal soliciting schemes. " You can Email: abuse@cox.net Hope that helps... |

Yes, please be VERY VERY careful sending money via Western Union. Often times there is no recourse if the person is a scammer. Thanks for the heads-up on this person! |
I've filed a complaint with cox and I haven't gotten a reply from them...I don't know what else to do. Do I need a lawyer? What can a lawyer do for me, and would it cost me a lot? Please inform me. I assume it will take some time for the reports that I filed with IFCC to get to the detective who takes care of internet frauds. (I've file reports with Western Union, Petsell.com, puppyfind.com,nextdaypets.com,Ct general atty and San Diego Police) Again, she's still using the same name and she has different emails through cox.net. For those ppl who are getting emails from her, please file a report with the San Diego Police or IFCC, I need some help from u guys...Thanks. Hope she can be caught soon, I don't think I'll ever get my money back, but I'll be helping lots of ppl.. By the way, I called my phone company and asked if they have any info on her 'cause her number did register on our caller ID when she called me, my phone carrier said she used Pacific Bell and that they will have her infos. I've been trying to get Pacific Bell's number but cannot find it, does anyone know. I'll keep everyone updated...............Hoping for good news soon! |
the American Bar Association requires lawyers practicing in the US to donate some of their time for free. Though this is not enforced (i.e. checked-up on), maybe you can find someone who is willing to donate their time to you. A friend or friend of a friend? Law students in your area? A Yorkie Talk lawyer? |
everytime i read this thread i get more and more angry! i honestly can't understand how people can scam other people!! |
Keep Us Up Dated It is too bad that we have to put up with terrible people trying to get our hard earned money. We had a lot of response from scammers while trying to sell our puppies. I guess buyers and sellers are both victims in this. Keep us up dated on what goes on. I know that is you have to be loose money or merchandise before you can get them for anything. I had a guy send me a check for $6800.00 for a $1200 puppy. He actually said he had some one else that owed him money in the US send it to me. He had actually used a real persons name and account but they had not sent it. He was from the UK. :eyetearss We were to pay for the shipping and for the Dr vet to travel with the puppy to the UK, RIGHT!!!!! I Do not let any of the others get that far. I learned. Paypal or Cash at pick up. They will stop talking to you right away. |
No offense but I would never buy a dog I have never seen. I have 4 newborns 4 sale on this board but I wouldn't even ship one to you without meeting you. Breeder or not, show dog champion or not, Yorkies are PETS! I love my dogs like they're my daughters and will have a hard enough time selling their pups. I will only sell them to a good home where I nkow they will be taken care of. Not just attention but given the proper nutrition, care, shots and most of all LOVE! That said, I'd like to find this B*@%# and smack her around! Of all the scams I've heard of this one sucks! I wouldn't have her shutdown, let her think she's still slick and set her ass up! Sounds easier than done. But I'd almost pay $ myself to know she gets what she has coming. Even if you don;t get your $ back, and you probably won't, get her in trouble! |
Elizabeth Davis Update Hi, it's me Senbal2005......I am happy to say that a detective has been assigned to the case. I need more ppl to send me emails and infos about Elizabeth Davis, so that she can be traced. Thanks |
I'm sorry to hear about your incident. I'll see if she answers and ad and see if I can get an IP address from her e-mails. Then the ISP (cox) will be able to provide you with her address. If you're still looking for a yorkie, I have a friend that's selling some of her Yorkies. She's in the Los Angeles area if you're interested. |
Go bite 'em! |
Davis arrested Great News!!!! I just visited Next Day Pets and saw a posting for Elizabeth Davis' arrest...... She was arrested this afternoon..........I will find out more and update everybody soon................. |
That is great to hear. I hope that everything works out for you with this matter. Keep us posted. |
I guess I wont have to post that ad after all. Hope she gets what she deserves. I got scammed on eBay before, bad experience, bad memories.. oh god. |
wooohooo!!! good for you  one down many to go but one by one they will be taken down :D :we're #1: :good job: |
That is great news! Good job! |
Yahoooooo! Good job you guys! And may she learn her lesson behind bars. People just want instant gratification. They can't work and get paid like everybody else. |
my husband talked to the detective today from San Diego....Would you believe that all that time she was really using her real name....What a bimbo... So anyway, she's in jail and her bail is $595,000...........No way is she getting out................. The detective said that there's a long list of ppl that she had scammed...So we'll try and see if we can get our money back......... |
 I am sorry for you, but I am sooooo glad she was caught!!! Joy, Nikki :animal-sm and Chloe rose :rose: :yorkietal |
