Blood Line I have a male who has double american/canadain championship says my breeder. How can I check his blood line. |
You just have to look on his pedigree . Mine have the double championship too . |
ask your breeder for a copy of the dam/sire pedigree as well when you register your baby you can request a pedigree, which reveals 3-4 generations depending on the registry. hope this helps |

69 Double Amer/Canadian I need to check further back in his blood line. He is AKC and if I knew how I would post a picture. What a dream boat. :number1ri :yorkiesar |
What are the kennel's name mentioned in the pedigree . Mine are from : Rothby , Caraneal , Yorkboro etc etc |
champion Hi...is your male an AKC/CAN champion himself, having competed and won his championships in both countries? |
No. I owned my own business and didn't make time for training or showing. I now are retired and sorry not making time to doing so. |
Known Champions in Bloodline Some of the names in his blood line are: Wildweir Ten O'Clock Schollar - Kajimanor Bold as Brass II - Rawlins Kris Kringle - Millamor's My Matchmaker - Millamor's Marmalade - Wildweir Magic Potion - Stardust's Tuff Stuff - Popan's Flash Gordon. These are all champions. Anyone ever hear of any of these dogs. |

girl . When I received the pedigrees , I love to do research to find more names and going as far as possible in the genealogy . |
champion I was confused by your first posting...your male is a double champion..USA/Can..so that means he WAS shown and won his title, or am I misunderstanding you again? I have seen many of the champions you mention from his pedigree shown. Popan Flash Gordon was at least 30 yrs ago,as with the Wildweir champion. Who sired your male and his dam?...most important names on the pedigree are sire and dam, grandsire and granddam. JMO |
Bloodline Gailwin's Kepper of the Stars is sire/Belfast's Desert Rain is the Dam on my Gailwin's Cho Cho Train. |
Pedigree Your kid has very respected old lines in the backgound of his/her pedigree. Many of the lines that you named were very actively being shown in the 60's, 70's, and 80's . If you conatct a pedigree service you can have them do a 7 generation pedigree( will cost 75-80.00). In about a week they will send you a pedigree which has all the Champions in red. It is wonderful. You can then do a internet search and find some of these dogs. AKC will only due a 3-4 generation pedigree. Purchase the out of print book by the girls ( Joan Gordan and Janet Bennett of the Wildweir kennels) The Complete Yorkshire Terreir. Howell press first printing in 1976. This book has many of the lines you listed and will tell you about the breeders. This book was written when Bobby of Rothby lines was just starting to show here in the midwest. I bought this book in 1976 and still am using it. I was blessed to be involved with yorkies during the time period that allowed me to meet and know those old timers and the foundation stock that we still find in today's lines. Wnalegria (Kathy) |
Pedigrees Wagon Wheel Pedigrees will do a 7 generation pedigree for $40 and an 8 generation for $80. Seems like a great deal although I have yet to use them I am planning to! :) |
I recognize some of those lines. I have a copy of the book you mention. I also have a person who does my 5 and 7 pedigrees. They are very informative and the 7 gen is poster size. He includes the names of the breeders, colors, but ALSO includes the name of the person who owned the dog at the time it was entered into the stud books. Names are not included in the peds I have gotten from the registry. But, AKC closed their stud books in July of last year (or the year before) so any registrations since then have to come from AKC. I have not found them to be very informative. JMO |
Bloodline Kajimanor was established in 1963 by Kay Radcliff out of Illinois based on Wildweir bloodlines. Was a top yorkshire Kennel. Stardust is Susan Harrison- also out of Illinois based on a lot of different lines including the Wildweir. She started I beleive in the 70's and still does breed. Popans is another old respected line- Just got a brain freeze- can't remeber waht I was going to tell you about this line. Wildwier based also. Wildweir needs no introduction- Joan and Janet did a lot for the breed. Nancy Donavon needs to be included also as she is part of wildweir. Buy the book by Joan and Janet it will enlighten your world. Wnalegria |
lines Do you ever look at recent photo's of breeders and realize how old we are getting to be? LOL Lordean was on top for so long..does she still breed/show? I never see her line now. There are so many new faces I can not keep up. Since I have retired to Florida, I am going to shows again...no more grooming and boarding as in MD givew me so much more time and energy. |

Your puppy has very respected dogs in the pedigree. If you will read the book the Complete Yorkshire Terrier you can find information about most of those dogs and their breeders. You will find it very interesting reading. wnalegria |

My question still stands?? Does this mean no 3rd party services for AKC pedigrees? |
