Question for breeders Molly's pups are 4 weeks old. No birth problems. Vet checked her out 3rd day after whelping and said all was fine. My question is this: How long do they spot discharge after whelping? She still has a chocolately red spotting a every now and then. The vet tech said it is fine if there are no other signs of a problem such as fever, restlessness, etc. Does anyone know how long this can last before it is a problem? Terrie |
My vet told me it could last at least 3 weeks. I assume that it could last longer, but I'm not positive. Sorry I couldn't help more! |
Some of my females "spot" into their 6th week... never had a problem. Best of luck with your pups! :) |
my pups are ten weeks old. mama started doing this two weeks before birth and is still doing it. She hass been vet checked numerous times. he said it was some big long word and it's not normal and should have stopped by now but that she is fine. |
Thanks Thanks for all the help. I feel better knowing she is not the only one to do it. She is so skinny but eats like a hog. Her pups are all chubby. They are content most of the time so she must be providing enough milk. Again, thanks for the help. Terrie |
