Help with tieing~
 
I am currently having trouble getting my little man in~ I was wondering if anyone had a tip for me when they are ready for round 2

PS~ Both dogs are first timers~ but absolutely willing

Is he to short to reach her? sometimes they need something to stand on, if he is considerably smaller.

he is 3.5 lbs and she is almost 6lbs

ok so everytime he gets it inside her she yelps but then there is no tie? How long before I know that they are tied???

What day of her heat is she at now? Perhaps she isnt ready for him and thats why she yelps.

Well she was on day 9, today is 10. I have tryed the phone book thing, but he falls off. I am trying sooooo hard and I just can't seem to get it. I have tryed guiding him but then he humps my fingers...ewww, lol. I think I am going to try to hold her vulva open and just get the right angle. It is so hard because I can't really see, and i am straining and sweating and straining some more. Hard work, let me tell ya. He is definately loving every secong of it

Sometimes it's best to relax and let nature take it's course. Roxi and Connor wouldn't tie until day 14 & 16 this time and we just had 7 pups! They know when it's time. Make sure there's a good slip proof surface under them. Connor is smaller as well and they figured it out on a rise in the yard. All I had to do was supervise the tie so everyone would be still.

Ok so I am still having trouble, but we are getting closer! She is standing better today and he is humping every two seconds like crazy!!! When I tryed to aim him he went nuts and his "thingy" flew out and it missed again~ hmmmmm. we are going to try again in half hour becuase we humans need a break~ they are still at it, great stamina on my boys part!

Have you folded a towel to get him elevated and traction....

THEY TIED!!!!!!!!!I tried the phone book~too slippery...the towel/blanket definately worked....YEH!!! so happy!!!!

question~ how long before his "thing" goes back in now that they are done?

If she has already released, him his penis should retract back into the sheath almost immediately, I usually rinse him off, and apply an antibiotic ointment....tell him what a great job he did, put him down to rest as well as the female. Her especially she should be kept quiet for awhile

I rinsed it and put the ointment on it, its still not in but I will keep a close eye on it~ thanks for the tip.

He may have hair caught inside the shaft...check, pull around the opening, very gently

ok, worried! It is still not in!! The head is all swollen, he's not whining or anything. I will try pulling the skin back~

Well it was definately a relief on all of our parts. Its hard manuvering around them while trying to help them be successful. But they are relaxing and definately happy. I will do it again tomorrow if they are interested to hieghten their possibilty of concieving. OOf I can't wait to see puppies~ They are going to be beautiful!
