Biewers??? Ok I was just wondering why Biewers cost more than most yorkies and you can't even register them? I think they are beautiful BUT...the cost is outrageous!!! Yorkies are quite the chunk of change but with that you can be a part of the AKC or CKC and participate in different events and things through the clubs, so why would biewers be more?? I am just curious? Biewers are fairly new to me, I didn't know that they werent recognised until I looked it up.:animal-pa Thanks for your insights~;) |
I own a Biewer. They are fairly rare in the US yet and more prominent in Germany. You might want to post this question at biewertalk.com. There are many breeders there from the US and some from Germany that could easily answer your question. You can register them here but I forgot the registration information. They are not YET recognized by AKC but I do know that is being worked on. Sorry I can't be of more help other then my poochie is gorgeous and I get so many compliments on him. He really didn't cost much more then I was willing to spend on a Yorkie (a smaller one). My only complaint would be that he will go over the standard of 7lbs. and this I will advise the breeder of just for future reference.. Kathy |
Biewers do cost a bit more right now for the fact they are still so new. Biewers can be registered with the IBC in Germany. That is where they started from. Also, if you belong to a Biewer Breed Club, they also offer registries with them. This is to track all Biewers and to make sure they can be traced bnack to German blood. Of course, alot more goes into it, but hoping that as long as the clubs keep track, this will help them to get them to be recognized by AKC one day. But in all actuality, they aren't that much more than traditional Yorkies. IMO...if someone is charging 5,000 or more for Biewers...run away!!!! Those are the breeders that are in it for the money and greed only. Do your research and your homework! There are many reputable breeders who do not charge and arm and a leg for them. |
I own and now breed Biewers. I have seen so many little yorkies being advertised at $4000-5000 that it makes the Biewers look right in line with the price of Yorkies. I love the Biewers. I wish I had met them sooner in my life. I have pictures posted in the Nursery of Connor & Cruiser, and Abbi's Babies: Dylan, Dusty & Danny. My website will tell you more too. |

I agree. I can't believe seeing a biewer being advertised for $4000-$5000  New or not there's no way I'd pay that much for a dog, especially one that's not even AKC registerable. And I haven't seen one advertised for less than $3000, even for a pet quality neutered male  |

You charge $4000~$5000 for a biewer????? Good lord! That is extremely expensive, I can see paying $2500 at most for a Yorkie but I think those prices are a little greedy. People arent supposed to make money when they breed, It is supposed to be to better the breed and your lucky to break even at the end of the day, not walk away with thousands of dollars!:thumbdown |

I didn't say I sold puppies for that price but I have certainly seen them advertised for that much money. My prices are fairly identical to the price of Yorkies. I will be happy to discuss my prices if you email me from the website. BTW, there is a 13 month old male neutered, house broken, all shots, available for $1000; the puppy turned out to be too big for the breeding program so this is a reasonable for a dog that cost 3 times that much when he was imported from Germany. PM or email if you want more information on him--and I get nothing out of this... |

I do hope you find him a great home!!!! That is a very reasonable price for a Biewer! Good Luck! |
