sorry you feel that way about Paypal. i must be reputable. I have references. i hope that makes me reputable. I also accept my deposits PayPal. This lady Is over eighty years old. She doesn't do computers. her little next door neighbor who is a college student does it for her and sometimes it takes her awhile to get an email to you,. but she will talk forever on the phone if you call. i don't know why you would think she is not reputable. In her heyday, she was an extremely well known exhibitor with one of the best lines out there. That is what she breeding now. The kid hasn't done her pedigree page yet but she will readily send it to you if you ask. so, please do your homework before you post about breeders not being reputable. i know this lady is as reputable as any breeder or exhibtor on here.

Lorideans/Lori Williams is a show breeder. 2 different people. The original poster was asking about famous show breeder Champions.

What is meant here is that no show breeder uses paypal.

Explain that to me too
 

I am lost as to this statement......and have wondered the reason in previous reference to Paypal.......

Tell me what is different in Paypal and those who pay for their Yorkies with a Credit Card.......absolutely no difference.....well, there could be....actually.....Paypal is YOUR money......and Credit Cards are the BANKS money........

I dont mean to be difficult......but, what difference does it make whether a breeder takes PAYPAL or you get a cash advance to pay for your Yorkie.....

Of course, I would not have a problem with either one.....its just a means to get what I want....period!

Nothing wrong with it, but I know of no Show Breeder that uses it. I know of know Show Breeder that accepts credit cards either....cash or cashiers checks only.

Great site.....Pastoral and Rothby are there....the first ones go back to English lines.... Nice way to follow the pedigree.

I found it helpful when tracing my males lineage, so thought I would pass it on. A fellow YT'er found the site for me when I was researching pedigree's.

Wow I love the De Majodian's yorkies. Absoultely gorgeous.

What is amazing to see how the yorkie has evolved, especially the coat texture....soft coats to the standard of today. From the short cobby dog to the more leg of today

I found the info from the YTCA amazing. It was there that I found out that the 3 origional breeds it took to make a yorkshire terrier are now extinct. Too look back on how Yorkies started is mind boggling at times.

Joan Gordon is a wealth of information, you can order her book on the history from the website. Another valuable book is the illustrated standard, that too can be ordered through YTCA

This thread came to my attention from the post today.
If you want to buy a show dog from a reputable show breeder, it will be in cash or cheque, not paypal or credit cards. Why? A reputable show breeder for one thing is not going to sell off the internet so paypal is useless. Credit cards also are useless to the showbreeder as they would not be selling a lot of dogs anyway and would not carry credit card stuff for people to pay them that way. For the reputable show breeder it is not a business.
You will be seeing the breeder in person visiting her or him, providing you can convince him or her to sell to you in the first place. If you haven't convinced them, you won't be walking through the door into their home.
Whether it is a dog or a bitch, it will be co owned with the breeder and there will be private contracts that are getting more complicated all the time as everytime a hole in a contract is patched, some enterprising buyer comes up with a way around it and the show breeder ends up getting screwed. A contract is only as good as the person you are dealing with which many have found out the hard way and got into situations they regretted as they had been had.
Therefore, it is also getting a heck of a lot harder for anyone to buy a reasonably good show dog from a reputable show breeder unless they know you and/or you have a bit of a track record of being honourable.

...that's why our dogs have the true colours....there are no other colours up here, where the breed was first started - Scotland- the original colour and the only correct colour is steel blue and tan and we haven't messed with the colour of them at all.....
.....i have only ever seen steel blue and tan except for in pictures.

...the dog originated in Scotland and was perfected in yorkshire, england, for use in the coal pits as a perfect rat catcher....that's why we have the tinies, as they were preferred, as they were small enough to get into the smallest crevices of mines and get more rats !
....so when some go on about size and colour, just remember that story, and i am Scottish and should know;) ;) :D
