Here is a link that talks about blue born pups. http://members.aol.com/CYorkie/Genet...Chocolate.html |
sounds like a blue born yorkie |
I have unfortunately had a yorkie puppy born grey, and it had "Colour Dilution Alopecia", all the hair that the puppy had left by 6 months old was the tans on the head. I didn't know it, at the time of mating, but my bitch was a carrier and also the stud dog. What lines do you have in the pedigree of your puppy? Is the hair coarse and sparse? How old is your puppy? I hope your puppy does not have the same condition. |

good luck with that! keep us posted. |
I hope your puppy's going to be OK |
You must never breed from carriers. If both parents are carriers of "Colour Dilution Alopecia" and there is a litter of 4 puppies, one will have the condition, two will be carriers and one will be clear. Unfortunately at present there is no test available for the condition to detect carriers. |
I posted one this morning title "blue born" |

blue born puppy The puppy is fine, I don't know whether to euthanize her or let her grow up and get her spayed. |

I know there can be serious health problems but if you do a search, you will find other people that have had this happen. Their dogs were okay. Here is the picture... |
