How often do you breed with one dam?
 
I am a bit clueless, but I just feel that two pregnancy and delivery twice in one year might be tough for a female yorkie. Do you guys ever have a same female yorkie being pregnant more than once a year?

Some breeders breed twice skip one, some breed every other heat. For me it depends on how often the bitch goes into heat and if she had any problems with her last whelping. After two whelpings in a row the gal can use a rest! Use your instincts and do what's best for your gal.

Each female is different....base it on the health of your girl, discuss it with your vet, having her vet checked after she has delivered a litter and after puppies have been weaned can give you a great deal of insight on her health.....Some may have to be rested after 1 breeding, others after 2. It all depends on how she did while whelping, how much it took out of her....difficulties while whelping, etc.....

Female yorkies go on heat about twice a year, right? If so.. most of the yorkie at least skip one heat.. then once a year? or every 1.5 yr? hmmm

Again each is different.....some every 6 months, some 8, some 10.....some 1 a year.....No one has said to skip one heat. Just females are not bred until 18 months or their 2nd cycle.

There are many great books on breeding breed specific dogs. You need to study up on all that information. Unless I'm showing, I wouldn't be breeding.

Like I said before it depends on the health of the female if she can be bred twice in a row and input from your vet is very important....

I am NOT breeding!!!!!!!!!!!! I am just ASKING!

Haruka is spayed. I hope it was okay that I had a question and just threw the question out here since we have wonderful people who can respond to my questions... I was confused about something.. so I asked. ...... it is not to make me look stupid!

Depending on the health and how often she comes into heat...my yorkies comes into heat ever 8-10 months...unlike my Maltese who comes exactly every 6 months...hope that helps...and everyone here likes to share a little knowledge or two..
