Okay, so I'm thinking about putting my Petey out for Stud services, Where does everyone suggest I advertise??
A friend -co worker told me today she is studding her male out and that someone from here (YT)contacted her. She told me she put an ad on YT, but I can't find it anywhere, (are we allowed to do that?)
Any help is appreciated.

And YES, Petey is proven. He makes beautiful babies too!;)

it is against the rules to advertise stud service on YT so maybe your friend got mixed up. I'm sure petey is wonderful. it takes more than being proven to stud him out tho. he needs genetic testing. you need to know his bloodline inside and out and that takes a lot of research. then you need to have a contract drawn up about the service you will provide. the bitxches you will breed him to also need to be tested for STD's. it's called a Burcellous test and needs to be done within a few days of the breeding.

Thanks for replying, Studding Petey out to others might be new to me, but all the other things you mentioned are not. I know about brucellious testing and bloodlines and genetics. I just wanted to know about advertising.

well, good luck. i know petey really does make beautiful babies. I wish it were allowed here to advertise. i have a nice tiny stud also that throws beautiful little babies.

Why isn't it allowed to advertise studs? This is something that would be helpful to those who might be looking for one.

Most of the time everyone say's you can not offer your stud for service on Yorkies talk , However they are wrong, if you look at the posting rules under rule # 10 it clearly says that only donating members can offer stud service and then only after advance approval from the administrator of yorkie talk. It's just quicker to say no you can't, thats the answer most give anyway.

Well, I didn't say it because it is quicker or easier to say as you imply. i said it because I hadn't read the part about donating members. Ummmmmmmm maybe I need to put Ceeby's stud ad out there.

well you can't really do anything without being a donating member except post

(participate in gift exchange, advertise puppies or dogs for sale, participate in memorial gifts, vote, or advertise stud service)

I hope that you are not upset. But I wanted to add what you get on YT with or without donating.
It is a fun place to come and learn and teach what you know about the breed. Laugh and cry with the friends you meet here. Meet other Owners or lovers of the breed near you.
To donate you don't have to spend a fortune and you do it on your own terms. Being here I feel has taught me so much about Yorkies and alot of other things I would have never learned other places.
I feel you should have to be a donating member to advertise breeding or forsale because there are way to many out there that just want to Scam or are not here for anything but to sell.

I feel we are really lucky to have YT and I do donate because I want to see YT grow even bigger. It is nice though that you don't have to donate to come here and make new friends.

I waited till I was on here almost a year to donate And aI for one am glad I did and I plan to donate more in the future.

Just want to Add YT ROCKS!!! :D

i agree with everything you said. I would also like to see a minimum number of posts, say five hundred, added to the donate rule. simply because some people will give five dollars just to post a "free for sale ad. it's cheaper than paying a newspaper for an add. i also have an issue when i turn the computer on in the morning and first thing I see is a post to almost every thread on the forums by the same one or two people. it seems so insincere. usually just a word or two. Someone is trying to get the post count up in a hurry but it actually is irritating to me. maybe I am just too old to see the humor in a lot of this stuff. LOL

Oh no i really do like YT, I was just stating that why would someone expect to be able to post about a stud for free if they can't do any of the other options for free..


And although 25 dollars for you may not be much, for my husband and I its the difference between being able to go out to eat once every other week or not.I belong to around 8 different forums and none of them require any money. My husband actually runs and operates several himself and the amount required to run one is next to nothing. I think more people would be willing to donate if they knew where the money went. Not accusing anyone here because i know they do some amazing stuff with the money(ie memorial funds and such, but most of the time they ask for more money for that as well), but just think for every 4 members who donate thats 100 bucks....a lot of money. I come to YT every other day, but participate a lot more in another yorkie forum where no fees are added.

I am a donating member, I put up an ad looking for a stud and was told in no uncertain terms huge NO NO!
So it is not allowed, but would really be useful.

Well, lets put it out for the Admin... What do you say ADMIN, is it allowed or not and if it is what are the rules and where does the post go?
