DNA done when If there was a possibility of the female having connected with 2 males, when should the DNA be done on potential fathers, mother and puppies? Why would a breeder wait until the pups were almost 11 weeks old? |
Dna The dam does not need to be DNA'ed unless she has other pups all together and has no clue whose are whose... Most breeders would want to know sooner then later..why they have waited is no clue to me... |
I agree, sooner would have been better. Does the testing create any health problems for the puppies--would this be a reason to delay?? |

It can be done as soon as the puppies are weaned. |

Seems strange that they would wait so long to DNA the pups. If the pups are AKC, when you register the litter, there's some where where you state that you saw the breeding and say that only one male tied with the female (at least on line). |

So much goes on out there that its scary and sad. The best we can do is educate the public on what to look for. I know that those things I mentioned aren't easily spotted, but we can educate people on how to spot a good breeder. |

I think in this case, the pups a Biewers, and therefore not AKC...that's why I was questioning the methods of other registries. |
