Books on Showing? Can any of you lovely ladies that show, recommend a good book(s) to read on beginner showing? I would like to learn a little more and read up on my spare time. I am not much of a reader other than school text books.......but this really interests me. :) If you don't feel comfortable posting here........please PM me. I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to reply or help. :p Thank you kindly, Jess |
1 Attachment(s) Did you check the "Passport Of a champion" by Ms. Sabrina Parisi. It was published in Europe but someone told me it has been released also in English language (?) Can anyone give any info about it?Attachment 102818 |
I haven't checked.....wanted to get recommendations first........thanks!! |
Really? No one has recommendations........or they just don't want to be bothered by this fool? :( Jess |
book I never learned much from books, it more of a hands on thing...you might look for a video. The best way is to go to show, watch and learn...AKC web site explain common questions about the ring and many related subjects... |
Thanks Pat! |
Give 'The Winning Edge' a try, it's by George Alston. It has some good gaiting techniques and helpful hints. |

George Aliston has an online video seminar. I think if you google Eukanuba or IAMS you can find it. Excellent, about 90 minutes. Handling and showing is best learned by going to classes. Reading books doesn't teach you the details of learning each individual dog, how to recognize their quirks, anticipate possible problems and how to correct them almost invisiably. And most of those things are learned by being in the ring and/or training classes. |
I have some show books listed on my site hope this helps http://yorkiepassion.com/yorkieresources.htm |
