How soon can u tell if your Yorkie is preggers? My two yorkies tied on Feb. 10th. I can't tell at all if she's pregnant or not but then it may just be too soon. Her teats are not swollen and she hasn't seemed to gain any weight, so all looks normal and she acts normal. Am I just not waiting long enough or are there sure signs of pregnancy this soon after a tie? When they tied, my bitch went out of heat that following day or day after that. |
No help??? C'mon experienced breeders, I'm sure you all should know a little something about this..... |
Other than a little morning sickness there are usually no visible signs of pregnancy until the 5th week. At week 5 or 6 she should begin to gain weight, her nipples should begin to enlarge and she should to show a gelatinous substance in her vulva, like a mucus plug. Sometimes personality changes a bit in the early weeks. My Roxie gets food posessive and will even take a nap by the food bowl. She also carries around a stuffed monkey and guards it against the other dogs. |

Ahhh.. this helps SO much. Thanks! I will be on the lookout for the behavioral changes. Maybe I should get Lily a stuffed monkey too??! hahaha ;) |
Cindy wandet to sit in my knee all the time when she was between 2 and 3 weeks, I know then tat she was pregnant, she didn?t want to eat much either. I?m so sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand me? |
Here is a link to a Canine Pregnancy Calender. Type in the date of the tie and it will pop up the stages of pregnancy and the expected date of whelp. http://www.debbiejensen.com/date.html |
