Do you know what color these yorkie puppies are??? 4 Attachment(s) Hello, I would like to know if anyone could tell me what color they think these 4 day old yorkie puppies are,the first day they had a dark brown color to them and today the look more of a blue I guess because their coats have dried.There was 6 puppies born, one of them was a still born puppy, the other 5 are doing great the biggest one weight 4 onces they also had dew claws and tails removed today, mother is doing great as well, she is a blue and tan female her great grandfather is a champion shes 7 pounds the father is a blue and tan male as well,he is 4 pounds, they both come from parents that were black and gold. |

I posted on the other thread you put the pics on too. I think they are chocolate. Even though they are not the standard I think they are cute. There was a link to a web site expalining the differnet colors on one of the previous threads that you posted them on. The link said that the blue born ones is a genetic defect and ususally fatal and if not fatal then they usually have a serious skin condition. They said that the chocolate ones ususally don't have any health issues but they should not be bred because they are not the standard. Is this your first litter? Are you going to sell them?? |

I have never seen a blue born or a chocolate yorkie so I am no expert but they definitely are not standard. Isn't is unusual for all of a little to be off color like that? I'm curious, do the mom and dad have any of the same ancestors in their pedigree? Any other chocolate or blue borns that you know of? |
They definatly look blue to me also,I have had 2 and they look just like mine did.They do not look chocolate to me. |

Whatever they are.........they are very cute!! They don't look standard though and the parents probably should not be bred again. |

The mother and father 4 Attachment(s) The mother is a blue and tan and the father is a blue and tan, this is both of their 1st litter,I have the pedigree for both of the parents from the AKC I have seen no relation between the two.I am going to post pics of both of the parents, they both where born black and tan yorkies so I was told???They both have very nice coats,no skin problems at all,jill is 2 1/2 and Gizz is 13 months old.Jills coat is longer than that now she had a puppy cut then, that was in november she is 6 1/2 no more than seven pounds and Gizz is 4 pounds. |
