She wants to pay $100 less.... I have someone interested in my stud. I told her what I charge and I had a VM from her today saying she only wants to go X amount of dollars and thats it. Which is $100 less than my fee. Would you entertain the idea? This would be my 2nd outside service with him. Just looking for ideas. I have not talked to her yet about it. I could ask for pic of the litter but that makes me un-easy as well because whos to say she would be honest when the pups came. I don't know what I'm going to tell her at this point. |

her VM said that she's had many offers and some she's refused, and if I will go X amount then its a done deal, and if I can't go X amount then she'll just use her Pom. ??? See, my groomer gave me her #, as she was looking for a stud. So I called her. She breeds Pom's and Yorkies from what I was told. I guess I'm worried about turning down business, as I'm just getting underway. Her message didn't give me warm fuzzies, thats for sure. She talked like she was the one calling the shots. |

fee I would tell her to use her Pom...! Allowing breeders to use one of my studs was a priviledge, not a right.. and certainly not up for bargaining. |

i think if you did not get a warm fuzzy feeling, i may question that. do you have all the info on her female? have you seen her? have you been to their home to see what kind of situation she keeps her babies? i have left homes b/c i would go to their home to ck it out....see what is going on. are they popping out puppies every chance they can. are they just a hobby breeder. i have walked out of homes and denied for kirby to stud them. some homes were so dirty, i just felt their bitch was dirty too. yuck i normally do all the studding at my home but i will go to their home and bring kirby to get them together before the breeding starts. this is how i see what they are doing. |
Mama dee here!!!!!!!! Stop worrying abou" losing business" as you said. Your little stud isn't a business. he is your baby and his reputation is at stake. i agree with the others but I have already posted twice. He is not a bargining tool. she may think she is the driver because YOU called HER. . |
I would tell her I am sorry I charge 100 more then that.. and if you want to use my baby.. then you have to pay my fees.. IF you dont get a warm feeling about her... I would just tell her no I am sorry and dont worry about it and move on.. |
Hey, you gotta pay for quality and I do not know how much you charge but to deny your stud for $100.00 that she will be getting a litter out of is ridiculous!!! She is probably just trying to bargain you down. I wouldn't budge! BTW-Was she going to use her Pom to breed with her Yorkie??? |
If this woman is willing to breed her yorkie to a pom - you need to turn around and RUN. She's obviously in it for the money. Yes, this may also be a business for you too, but woman's intuition should never be ignored. There will be plenty of other great matches for your stud. Just move on and consider it a lesson learned. |
I wouldn't do it...If she wants to use your stud, then she pays the price or you could do pick of litter....:) |
He's your boy.....let her use her pom.....whose she trying to scare, you, I think not..... You've set your price and rules.....stick with them. |
If you've got the pedigree to back it up, why does she think you should take less? Apparently she doesn't care about the quality of the pups she produces. You're better off without her. Would you really want your kennel name on her pups papers anyway? Stick to your guns! |

 I totally agree! |
Update Just wanted to update everyone. I didn't provide stud service for her. She doesn't seem like someone I'd want to do business with. Thanks for everyones input:) . |
Good news! |
OH!!!! I forgot!!!!! Oh and get this !!!!! She told me she's going to sell her pups on EBAY !!!!!! What the ???????????? I told her "no, you can't sell puppies there".....but she insists she's going to !!! WTH ??????? . |

agreed....if she gives you wierd feelings, I'd pass. What if she doesn't take good care of your boy's babies or ensure they go to good homes? A business relationship is what this is and it does not call for one party to call the shots. |

She doesn't sound like someone I would like to do business with, anyway. |

Kind of fishy sounding huh? She had many offers..... if you didn't meet her price.....she was going to use her Pom....................... |
Obviously, she isn't in it to "improve the breed standard" or she wouldn't be willing to use a pom. I'm glad you didn't assist her in her enterprise.:) |
hes yours and for you to make your price, i had one guy want to breed my husky with his husky and so i said to bring her over and let them get accainted and he was like well i cant pay you right now and then his dog was sratching and itching and she looked underfed and like shes chained all day and so i was like well is she in heat and ready and hes like i dont know she had like a dog period like 4 or 5 minths ago and i told him well i think she needs to be in heat but im not sure but then he was like well i cant pay you but you can have a pup form the litter and i was like uhh no i dont want the pick i just want the stud fee and thats it and you know all that but his dog isnt registered and it was a mess i told him i just wasnt interested people like that to be greedy for money dont need to breed dogs becuase they would be just like his dog he allready has. you stick to your price cause if shes dropping your price for you but she isnt dropping her price of what shes gonna sell the pups for then someone isnt getting their fair share either. dont worry about turning buisness away, the right one will come along and you will have your warm fuzzy feeling and you will know its right. |
if you have doubts and a gut instinct say no as it may be a intuition that proves to prewarn you of forcoming problems be careful |
