My Mickey girl, is just starting to grow into her ears at 7 months. I will miss her Dumbo ears--she looked so darn cute!! Although her ears are now more in size with her body---they are still like little satelite dishes! She NEVER misses the slightest sound. The funny thing is, she does not bark, but instead alerts her older furbaby sister, and then Jazzy barks! The two of them are like Abbott and Costello--it is so funny!! |
I actually am starting to love the big ear look! Even though I know its the hair making them look big, I still think they are adorable !!!!! I love seeing my Brodies ears in the shower when his hair is all wet and those big ole ears are standing striaght up! I love them! (yes, I said shower :) All my babies take showers! ) |
They are adorable. You have to decide if thats what you want to breed into your pups or not. If you were just looking for a pet it wouldn't matter at all. If your looking for breeding, you have to consider what you want pass on. |

Not that he is perfect (and he did go through a Big ear stage for a while there)but below is what Ben looked like at 10 weeks when I brought him home. See how the ears are more pointed? The picture in my avatar is a few months later and his ears are really needing a trim. I thought his ears had gotten huge, but a trim brought them back to size and more V-shaped. I think they call the rounded ears -- bat ears -- and it is a fault. It might be just how a picture looks or even how hair is trimmed that make them look a bit rounded -- would have to decide in person. |
I just looked on your site -- both Meiah and Brodie Rae have perfect tiny, V-shaped, erect ears. That is what I looked for. But I am just the green side of novice right now -- learning, learning, learning. |
Thank you!!! I have been told by some breeders that have 20+ years experience in Yorkie Breeding, that my dogs are very beautiful dogs, so I'm excited for more pups.
