Wow I am so confused!! But according to the dog warden that I talked to yesterday, you have to be selling the dogs for a profit, a business to be a kennel owner. So if you are a hobby breeder then you can not get a kennel license. She also said you have to be breeding every dog continously. And if you don't have a kennel license you just have to register the dogs individually. She also said that all the kennel license around here belonged to the amish who breed for a living (puppymills). She even suggested that I don't get it?? So as of right now, we are NOT going to get the kennel license. For one I want to be a hobby breeder and two I don't like the rule "you must be breeding every dog continously", and three I don't want my dogs to be housed away from me, I coulden't live with that!! Sounds like they are trying to promote puppymills doesn't it?? |
