Delivering natural after a C-section How many of you have had your bitch have a c-section for a litter and the next breeding was natural? |
whelping Yes, a number of times..it depends on the reason for the c-section..was it due to one large puppy, a blockage, large litter of perhaps 6 or 7 and the dam shuts down before the end...etc |
Very possible. Happened to me. I requested my girl be spay, because I was really upset she had a C section. I hated that whole experience for her and me too! My vet encouraged me to try again for a litter and if another C section happened then give it up. He said he felt her pelvis was more mature. He felt she would do fine the next try. Well, I listened, and worried, and worried but he was right. Bobbis/Trace was born without a problem. |
