I think babies will come today! Okay, my little Lucy didn't eat her breakfast this morning and she threw up some bile. She wont come out of her bed but for a second at a time. She wont eat her favorite treats or anything. I have been taking her temp regularly and she is down 1.5 degrees this morning. She just got in my lap and her hind legs are wet and she had some clear slimy discharge hanging out. She is licking herself a lot and has been digging in her bed. Pretty sure this will be the day she has pups! We went to the vet on the 8th and they showed two pups. He measured the heads to the pelvic bone and thinks the pups will come out okay. I guess my question is from this time of her discharge what is the time frame for things to start happening? My vet said about 24-48 hours from temp drop but with this discharge, does that mean things will happen faster? Thanks Cindie, Puppers & Momma Lucy |
She should be giving birth today if that was the "bubble" that comes out first (and had broken). Keep an eye on her..... and best of luck... hope all goes well!!! :) |
Puppies!!!! So exciting! Keep us posted on how mom and pups are doing when they get here.:D |
How exciting. Prayer's coming for mom to have a safe delivery! Carol & Buddy |
1 Attachment(s) Lucy is doing pretty good. She sleeps for a while then moves around and digs a little in her bed. I have felt what I think are a couple small contractions today. A bulge never came out that I saw, she jumped onto my lap and her legs were wet and she had some clear slimy discharge coming out. She is pretty calm and relaxed right now. I will keep everybody posted as things progress! |
Good luck!!!!! |
Oh my goodness..........BABIES!!!! I wish I could help you out. The one and only litter we ever had was back in 1985 when my Boston had 5 babies. I really don't remember the details, but after she had 4, she had to have a C-section for the last one because she was too exausted. Good luck and keep us posted on this special event. |
Yea Yea Yea......cant Wait. |

Yay, puppies! Hope everything goes well. Keep us posted. |
One out, one to go! Hi everyone! At 4:45pm PST Lucy gave birth to a healthy cute little boy puppy! The first few minutes were somewhat nerve racking. There was one dry paw sticking out...and that was it! She continued to have contractions and the rest of the puppy followed within minutes. Lucy would not leave the umbilical alone after 15 or 20 minutes. She was chewing and pulling on it. I was worried she would give the puppy a hernia or something. There also were some traces of blood coming from the puppies umbilical. I eventually tied it with dental floss and have been keeping her away from it. Lucy is very loving and affectionate to the puppy. We'll keep you updated on number two! Cindie, Puppers and New Mommy Lucy |
First picture! 1 Attachment(s) Was able to snap a quick picture after weighing him...thought I would share! He is 6.1 ounces! |
