Bell's in Labor, need some answers. This is not like her last litter, Last time she had three puppies within two hours. This time she ran under the bed and had a baby there around 9:10pm, I pulled her and the baby out who was still attached to her and put them both in the whelping box and into my room. She is having contractions but no more babies yet. How long do I wait before I bring her to the vet? |
Katie did the same thing with the first one. It took about 20 min. before she finally delivered the placenta and I did finally help pull it out. She kept trying to run around and drag the puppy so I figured I had to help out. After that she settled down and it was about an hour between the first and second. I have heard of the placenta not coming until the next puppy comes down. Is she still pushing or did she settle down? |
well I know why it took so long the the 2 baby was big!! waiting for more! |
There could be 20 minute intervals between puppies (or longer). Glad to hear two have arrived safely.... keep us posted!!! |
How exciting! How many is she suppossed to be having?? GOOD LUCK!! Keep us posted. |
That poor baby was in the birth canal for a long time, and when he was finally born I thought he was dead, and I guess so did Bell, as she didn't do anything. SO I opeded the sac and cleaned him off (normally she does it all) well there was a lot of green, is this normal.. Remember the last time I basically watch and cut cords. that all |
so far 2 girls and a boy, I think one more. |
Don't hesitate to open the sacs and clean them off... Get them breathing... Keep em coming!! |
