Hello All :wavey:
Well Daisy is at day 60 According to the vet I say she is at day 58 or 59 but the vet says She has never been wrong yet .She said this at Daisy's xrays last Friday. No signs of labor yet.But the vet says watch for the milk in her booby's or for them to swell with milk and maybe even leak some when touched.Any other signs to watch for besides booby's and temp.And how do I take her temp? I know where it goe's and all that but I don't want to hurt Her ! When should I start to take it ?
Okay ,any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated :confuse2:

I took Emilee's temperature 5 days before due date, morning and evening.

I never got to take Lady Bellas temp because I was going to start on day 58 taking it three times a day and on day 58 morning she began labor :eek: So I would say start NOW!!

Get a digital thermeter, its works better. Take a little KY (not vasilene) and insert it up to where it widens (slowly) and hold until it beeps. My vet descibed it this way to me.....bigger objects come out of there, so your not hurting her, its just uncomfortable. If your girl is wiggly, its always best to have someone hold her at the other end.

Take the temp morning and night.. and its not bad to take it in the afternoon as well since she's so close. When is goes down in the 98's and stays down you should be having pups soon!

PS- I've taken tons of temps!!!! :)

Thanks to the few that decide to be nice and answer me. I really appreciate all the help from this site.Some people know alot about this breed of dog and some are trying to learn. I have read books after books but the best way to find out something is to ask.For all of you who answered You are very special people to take Your very valuable time and help a another person.It's people like You who make this world so much better

I'm just starting out my breeding program.....only 2 litters :) and I've yet to see 1 sigle pup born! (can you believe it??) First one was a c-section and second one delivered while they were prepping for a c-section!

So I'm still learning too, but if I can be of any help, I am here to try and answer anything I can!!! And taking temps....I do know! I did it on two prenant females :) The 1st one my vet had me start at 40 days! :eek: (that was too early :) )

Some never go below 99. So if temp is in the 98-99 bracket for 12 hours, delivery time is very near. Starting at day 58 I take temp 5 times a day. It's a pain in the rear, but it's the only way to tell if it stays down for 12 hours.

Yes its true - Meiah was 99.2 I think before she delivered.
