Be prepared to answer questions too . I know this breeder and she will not let go of her puppies to peoples she is not comfortable with . You should do more research on the breed before spending your hard earned pay check . |

:3 well thats good, someone who asks questions is always a plus and i mentioned my pay check cause if i buy a bad pup... that would just mean more money going bye bye XD;; at least Edie has a life time guarentee with hers :O |
I know Edie have guarantee on her puppies . I have guarantee too on mine but will never let one go if I don't feel comfortable with peoples wanting them . |
Of course, if the breeder doesn't feel comfortable who should they? mothers instinct perhaps :P |
Good luck finding your puppy . |
Hi - we talked in pm's already but I wanted to add my two cents too! Edie is a good breeder - you can't go wrong as far as I can see. She breeds for show and has excellent lines. Her dogs all have healthy, stocky little builds. She doesn't give a lifetime gaurantee for her dogs (how on earth any breeder could do that is beyond me). Like most breeders I've encountered, she gives a one year health gaurantee against the two genetic disorders commonly found in yorkies. She gives lifetime support though - and I've had absolutely no problem getting in touch with her and she is always prompt at returning emails. The first time I contacted her (via email) she did respond with a slew of questions - how long would the dog be alone during the day, do I have a yard, was my other yorkie neutered, am I prepared for the lifelong committment, etc. etc. etc. She is picky about who her dogs go to - but not unreasonably - I would say she is just as 'picky' as any other responsible breeder, wanting to ensure their dogs go to good FOREVER homes. She has a mandatory spay/neuter contract, which I had no problem signing. She raises her dogs in her home, not in a kennel which makes a huge difference in the temperaments of the dogs. Some of her dogs are de-barked, which I know is a hot topic around here... Ruthie is from Rusticpride - I think she's gorgeous and worth every cent I spent to get her. |
oh really? its not life time? i guess i got that one mixed up with Lorraine then. I think its good how some breeders give you a life time guarentee. that why not only is the pup always welcomed back there incase something happens, but it'll also keep pets out of shelters too. Edie's current litter has been spoken for, but im gonna ask if i can be placed on a waiting list :3 |
Edie give lifetime assistance for her puppies . Not a lifetime guarantee . Having a lifetime guarantee on a dog , no matter the breed would be dreaming bigtime . Two of my friends have puppies from her and they are really happy with the pups . |
That's what I meant - she gives lifetime support and WILL take the dog back should you no longer be able to care for him/her. In fact, I think it's in her contract that you will not rehome the dog and that it goes back to her. I dont know many breeders who wouldn't take the dog back. |
