thanks for the heads up I just thought it was a wanted section. Sorry guys and thanks for the constructive "ARE YOU SERIOUS" I clearly had no idea it was against the rules. If a mod would remove the thread it would be appreciated I don't want to break the rules on the forum.

I believe the "Are you serious" comment was directed to the fact that most people familiar with the breed would in no way ever consider breeding a dog so far out of the standard....also it is uncommon to expect a pup back from a breeding rather than a stud fee and generally neither is expected with an unproven male.
Please reconsider.

Not only what Sylvan said, but even when you do breed Yorkies, the male should be smaller than the female. So now you are looking to find a 16-18lb female? I would say please reconsider breeding your pet also. Breeding doesn't just entail sticking two horny dogs together to get a free pup or two. ;)

Please reconsider - he is way too large for a stud and we already have way too many larger yorkies out there. Thank you.

Whats wrong with a dog thats larger then standard if you are not showing them? Rusty is a super sweet dog and I want there to be others like him out there.

Everyone is offering good advise and we all have super sweet dogs - :) but that doesn't mean we think they should be bred -

you're talking about really BIG yorkies - and there are already so many people doing this that I too hope you reconsider. Don't take it the wrong way ...I know you'll probably breed him anyway but it's something to think about - also - you do know once you breed him - he WILL CHANGE - and not for the better.

Edited to add - you said you're taking payment for this breeding ?? not too many people will go with a yorkie that huge. The male should always be smaller ...they could lose their female due to the big puppies these dogs are going to throw.... GOOD LUCK.

Becuase its not the standard & there arent many people out there wanting 15-18 pound yorkies There are plenty in the rescues that cant find homes why add to it just cause you have a nice dog

well good luck in finding a female big enough for you boy,!!! and I dont mean this in a bag way. many people want the smaller yerk which is fine but when trying to find a mate for your dog its going to hard., because I have a young boy At 6 Month old he is weighting in at 8.6lbs and from what im told he is dont growing and I want to breed him and had a hard time tiring to find a female big enough for because you dont want to breed a big male like yours to a 6lbs female it could problem in the end what you might conceder is breeding him to a poodle a dog more matched to is body size and wont have berthing problems. The biggest females that I have found are at around 8lbs when mature and your boy is almost 6lbs over that amount I wish you the best in breeding your male and finding a female to suit him beleave me when I say that Im not bashing your dog by no means Im just trying to say your going to be looking for a long time to try and find one big enough to breed.

When you breed your dog for better or worse their genes are now part of a gene pool that will be carried on from then on twice fold. All you have to do is multiple and it is unblievable how many dogs it will effect. No, it doesn't matter that you will not show him - what does matter is that it will affect the gene pool and thus in the end - you will partly be responsible (just like anyone else that breeds) for the carring on of the yorkie standard.
I have been around a long time since the late 70's and it is amazing to see the changes I have seen since then. And not mostly for the good, I am sad to say. It was so much easier back then to get a nice puppy and not have to worry so much about problems or how it would turn out to look. This is another reason why soooooo many breeders now sell their pups with limited registrations or spayed/neutered already. We do this because we are aware of the breed standard and love our breed. We do not want the standard to change. Said to say that maybe this is one reason so many people looking to buy a yorkie today think we have several different sizes for the yorkies, which is wrong.
I know you love your dog. If you just want another dog - go buy another or better yet rescue one from the pound. There are a lot of larger yorkies, unfortunetly there since many do not like the larger yorkies. And once you breed him - he may then change - yes, he may then start spraying (mark their territory) your home. Very hard for them to stop. Not all do this, but most do. Please think it through. If you love the yorkie standard, apparently you do since you have a yorkie, please reconsider.
