My Whelping Box is Complete!! Now, I'm Just Waiting... 4 Attachment(s) :p I wanted to thank you all again, who replied to my cry (lol) for help with my whelping box. I did my best and bought all the necessary supplies and put a pee-pee pad and two towels inside. The heating pad is on the outside to the left. It was so hard to saw the doorway out of the box but I did it and the sanded it so it would be smooth. I am posting pics because my box is a product of all the suggestions I got and I am thankful to you all and we should all be proud:p ! Trini is happy and comfortable and getting use to it. Today is day 60!!! I can hardly wait!:p |
Wow! You did a FANTASTIC job!!!!!!   Can't wait to see pics of those adorable little pups! Do you know how many she's having? |
Awesome job!! Now all that's left is for those little darlings to be born!! :D |

Looks great! Just be careful with all of those "loose" towels. Babies can get lost and suffocated in them because Mom will tend to "dig". I use whelping pads (washable pee pads) that are heavier, quilted to absorb moisture, with a waterproof backing and lay flat without bunching up. |
It looks great!!! May I ask how you cut it or what you cut it with. I have been wanting to do this but I had to idea what to cut it with and was afraid the edges would be jagged. |
Awwww... Thank you all for the encouragement. I believe my Trini is having four babies, the vet said one more might be hiding in the x-ray. Wow! and I thought she would have like 1 or 2. :p I used a small saw that i bought at Target along with a very smooth & sharp kitchen knife to get around the edges. It was kinda difficult but doable and well worth it. To smooth some of the roughness off I bought a very fine sand paper and gently rubbed the edges smooth. Whew!! It took less than an hour in total. I put 1 pee-pee pad and two medium towels in there, do you all think that is alright? Sorry for all the questions, I am so nervous and this is my first doggie litter ever... Thank you all again! :p :p |
Nice job! I have one just like it, my hubby did it (it would have wore me slam out). Good luck with your upcoming litter. |
Good job!!! Please keep us updated please. |
I was searching through threads to get a idea for a whelping box and came across yours and I love this idea! Great job! |
Oh thank you so much for posting. I was wondering what I could use to make one fast! Bella is due in a few days, and i have nothing ready. I just moved not to long ago and have about 6 rubermaid totes left over from the move, so I am off to get the saw and cut one of them up.....lol will post pics later. Thank you again..... You saved me! :) :D |
