yorkie heat cycle This may seem to be a crazy question, but I would like to know if a yorkies heat cycle is the same as a bigger breed like a doberman,I breed dobermans and with one of my females she has her heat cycle 6 months after she has her last litter, I just had a female go into heat last month and she just had a litter in may 4 months after she had her puppies. Are smaller breeds the same or do they have their heat cycles spaced out in a longer tome frame. |
Yes they are the same, bigger breeds tend to come in later (a year). Yorkies average heat cycle is every 6 months also. |
They are the same, the breed of dog does not determine their heat cycles. But all dogs are different. So you will have dogs that go in heat every 6 months or you could have one every 5 months, or maybe only once a year, etc. So whether you have a doberman or a yorkie, they can have the same heat cycle, it just varies from dog to dog, not breed to breed. |

It depends, each female is different. Average is 6-8 months. Some only come in once a year. I have a female that the 1st time for her was 10 months, 2nd was 9 months, 3rd was 8 months, she now averages every 8 months. |
