Anyone Know Yorkies By Desire Stephanie Fronk Hi, I'm trying to find out if anyone knows or has heard of a Yorkie Breeder named Stephanie Fronk? Her website is Yorkiesbydesire and she is in Deland, Florida. I'm asking because her name was given to me by the owner of a dog boutique, not a pet store, but accessories. When I called her about getting a pup, she was very nice, seemed very knowledgable and very helpful. I got just a bit wary when I told her I wanted a girl and she had only boys but her girlfriend had girls and she helped her sell hers as well. Well, we continued to talk and finally she said that between her and her girlfriends, (more than one), they had about 15 yorkies they were breeding at different times. It caused me to be concerned that maybe she was a broker but since I don't know that much about the breeding business, I don't want to judge her unfairly. If anyone knows her I'd really appreciate the information. Thanks in advance |
Never heard of her but let me tell ya this...I have referred people to friends if they have yorkies...only friends that I felt have nice yorkies. That doesn't mean that I'm a broker by any means. Just that if I don't have anything to offer then why not help out a friend by giving a phone number? |
The lady I am getting a female from helped me locate a little male (Ben) from another breeder. She even went with me to the lady's house and looked at her puppies. I think many Yorkie owners are just extra helpful. They love their Yorkies so much they want to help others have the same experience. I hope that is the case with the lady you called as well. |
"We are not breeders, but rather a circle of friends whose yorkies sometimes have babies". Today, Yorkies by Desire and Keeper of Harts are proud to share our enjoyment with you as we match each of our precious little ones with a hand-selected forever home. Our babies come from champion backgrounds and will be sold with full registration quotes direct from the website... |

Lol, depending upon how much education someone has on choosing a good breeder those words could sound good or absolutely horrible. Let me just add that champion backgrounds means nothing, and a good breeder never uses this term. Selling with full registration is another sign of a poor breeder. A good breeder never sells her dogs with full registration, unless she plans to mentor another breeder. A good breeder understands that not every dog should be bred, but only a select few, and she insists that her dog's offspring are placed in pet-only homes, and feels responsible for the offspring her dogs produce. A good breeder knows that a dog's breeding potential cannot be possibly evaluated until at least 8 months, and so selling puppies that could turn into breeders is very irresponsible. I find it interesting that people say they are not breeders, and yet have dogs that produce puppies. What she means is that she does not take breeding seriously, it just a little moneymaker for her and her girlfriends, and so yes, she is not a "breeder" in the highest sense of the word. I always recommend people see the breeding conditions in person, now that people have stopped buying dogs in pet stores, commercial breeders, (those who breed for profit) have turned to the Web to sell their dogs. Some of these dogs are kept in horrendous conditions. Just want to add there is nothing wrong with another good breeder recommending a breeder, this is done all the time, however, a pet store recommended this breeder, and her website tells you her true motivations. |
I see that their website has obviously changed quite a bit since this thread was originally posted back in 2006. It now states that they sell on limited registration. Didn't look at in too much depth, just saw that on the home page... |
Yorkies by desire Well I have recently met Stephanie and can tell you she is honest, upfront and cares about her dogs. I was screened less when obtaining my mortgage than when I inquired about getting a puppy from her. She goes to great lengths to make sure she places a dog with just the right person. Professional, polite and just plain nice. She shows Yorkies and has great knowledge about them. When looking at a puppy she told me the good points and pointed out why this puppy might not be a show dog winner and what judges look for. I was looking for a companion so I was very pleased. All you can ask for is an honest, professional, person and Stephanie appears to be all of that. :aimeeyork |
Stephanie fronk I purchased a female from her in march of this year. I have a little male and wanted a mate for him. She was wonderful she sent all kinds of pictures and even a video I was a little apprehensive about having a dog shipped sight unseen, but she did everything right. My dog was beautiful and was everything I expected. I live in mississippi and had to have her shipped. I was a little apprehensive about buying a dog sight unseen, but she was wonderful. We dealt through email and texting. I don't believe you will be dusappointed. Happy in mississippi... |
