could somebody please give me some information I thought I would post this here. I got members viewing but no information. Maybe somebody here can help me. I read the post about roachback. I feel my Sadie Mae may have this. I searched the internet for information and cannot find any. Could somebody here please help me? I am a little concerned about this. Sadie is 2 1/2 yrs old and I really didn't notice this(I didn't really know what was) until I got my new furbaby. Lillie has a very straight back where as Sadie doesn't. Is this something I need to be concerned about? She runs, jumps, plays just fine. Should I try to stop her from jumping? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer me. |
I went online and found this....it is written by a guy who had a Yorkie with a roach back. The Yorkie did live to be about 16 years old. Maybe you could question your vet about it... He had always had a bit of a "roach back" but as the aging process accelerated, the arthritis in his back became more pronounced. Our wonderful vet, Dr. Julie DeMarco, prescribed treatments of glucosamine and fish oil dietary supplements along with pain medication to keep him comfortable. Some of Ladd's youth returned and I got to visit with that pup I knew so well from years gone by for about 6 mos. |
