Libby Had 4 Bountiful Babies Today!
 

Libby had her babies this AM! I was away for less than 24 hours to attend my daughter's wedding in Albuquerque. For weeks I have obsessed about the pupies coming while I was gone. My girlfriend was due to stay at my house with Libby until I came home today but ended up in the hospital with heart problems after I flew out of Dallas at 2 PM. So... her loving husband took both Libby and Teddy to their house. He slept with Libby who woke up at 6:30 AM in labor. The first sac presented but did not progress. To put it mildly, he freaked. Off to the Emergency vet they went. The vet had to help her with the 5.85 oz boy and then she did the rest herself. Three more: all girls. 4.9 oz, 5.48 and 5.15.

I got home around 1:45 PM today. My girlfriend Debbie had been released from the hospital around 11 AM and I arrived home to find her deathly pale but rotating pups and feeding Libby goat's milk to keep up her strength. OMG, what WOULD we do in this life without true friends!?

Libby is being the perfect mom. Licking all a lot. She turns them upside down to do a thorough job! They all are twitching while they sleep which I know is a good sign. Their tummies look plump and full and their coats look glossy. One of the girls stays latched on almost all the time.

Oh, how AWSOME! What a story to go with it!!!!!!! How nice to know that you do have TRUE friends. I am so happy for you. It is wonderful when you have a female that is a "natural" Mamma. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

My girlfriend had a liver transplant 2 yrs ago and I was the Liver Transplant Nurse who worked her up and got her on the list and stood by her during the whole process. Her husband is getting the pick of this litter because Libby adores him! I pray that Debbie will continue to hang in there and stay healthy! Just watching her with my Yorkies is amazing! They will do things for her that they won't do for me. She has an amazing connection with these pups.

Wow, it just gets more incredible. It sounds like a movie I'd love to watch on the "Lifetime" channel. I bet you are thrilled with the idea that one of your pups will be in their home. I truly do hope your friend has a full recovery. Sounds like the 3 of you have a very special bond.:thumbup: :thumbup:

congrats...the pups gives your girlfriend a purpose and diversion, something to fondel over and love will she is recouping...perhaps the babies are just what the doctor ordered, what a wonderful story.
