Question about Registration Hi everyone, Please advice!!!! About two years ago Mimi came to me as a stray dog, apparently escaped her owner or was thrown out, I don't know. As soon as a I saw her I knew she was a pure blood Yorkie. I searched for the owner for about seven months, posted her pictures and no claims for her. At first I thought maybe she was sick and they didn't want her, but as it turned out apart from being dehydrated and starved, she was OK! So I decided to keep her, the vet told me she was about 1 1/2 years old, that with much care she could be a very beautiful dog. So that's what I did, today she is perfectly healthy, and prettier than ever, no one would imagine she was the same stray dog I picked up two years ago. Well let me get straight to the point, I would like to register her but since I don't have any idea where she came from this has proven to be difficult. What can I do? I am 100% sure she is a yorkshire, terrier, apart from the vet telling me so. Where can I register her to in this case? PLEASE SOME ADVICE???? |
I have no clue about this but would love to see pics of her...do you have any before and after pics?? She is lucky to have picked you to be her new mommy!! Dawn |

not any more CKC used to reg if you had pics and statements from people saying the dog was pure breed, but not anymore thank goodness they have just recently stopped this practice and for good reasons, I"m glad they did. :) |

well... :animal-pa I was told they still allow open registration through CKC but the woman I talked tosaid they prefer that you have a vet as a witness. I had to do that. I registered Lexie that was through CKC. I was able to register her. You can always call and ask them though. ~Tru:animal-pa |

Curious as to why do you want to register her? For breeding purposes? If so, without knowing anything about the lineage of your dog I would think that would be a rather risky proposition. Just an observation.. |

CKC or CKC? Please, please remind others that when you specify CKC, you do NOT mean the Canadian Kennel Club! [COLOR="Red" [COLOR="Black"]Our CKC is as stringent about registering as your AKC; in other words, no registered parents= no registeration at all. I am not sure what the other CKC stands for, but it can be very confusing to newcomers, as the two regular North American registries are the Canadian Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club. All other registries are secondary, and not always acceptable to these ones. |
Oh, crap...I forget!:confuse2: I meant Continental. |

Not to mention the genetic problems some lines may carry. I was not asking to be nosy, just pointing out potential problems with the plan. P.S. Your link to the APRI and the ACA on your site are incorrect. |
